remove side mouldings..

remove side mouldings..

anyone know where all the screws are for the side mouldings? Mine are all dented and I want to remove them but don't know where it is all connected to.

there is only two nutcaps.
and they are on each door.
inbetween the door jam its black.
everything else is just plastic clips.

so one nutcap on each door and the side mouldings that's not on the door ( Mine is a coupe) are also held together with only plastic taps?

its a pain in the *** to get them off with the clips.... go really slow or you are going to mess up the mouldings ot break the clips or pull out the metal on your car.....

be careful


you wanna be very careful not to dent or scratch your car, when i took mine off, i used a screwdriver with fabric wrapped around it to protect the paint, then i pried from the side. dont pry them off from the top or bottom. hope this helps

the best way to remove them is remove your interior door trim and remove them from the inside of the door ... the plastic 10mm nuts usually break off because their so rusty

ok so what about putting side mouldings back on. I got an 88 crx si that came out of paint, the side mouldings are off the car and i wanna put them back on but most of the holes were filled during bodywork prep. Would thin strips of two way tape work on the edges of the mouldings? id rather do that than drill holes for the clips......any ideas?

use 3M double-sided tape on the back of the moldings ... be sure to spray some adhesive glue on the back before applying the tape, this will ensure the tape will stay on for good
