Re-Painting Delsol, Should I Goto 2 Tone??
Ok well my delsol is obviously being re-painted because of the recent accident with that lady... But im kinda stuck between choices.. The guy that owns the paintshop where my car is getting painted has an 2 tone integra that i really like the paint job on... The top half of the car is white and the bottom have is red...
Ok heres my question too you guys... Im using the same color blue paint but im woundering which of the three choices below I should go with... and remember with the 2 tone paint jobs the paint is slowly faded and blended in together it doesnt just go from one color to another...
1) Paint My Car The Same Color Blue As It Was Before. All One Color Blue. NO TWO TONE.
2) Go With A Two Tone Paint Job. Top Half White, Bottom Half Blue With Metal Flake.
3) Go With A Two Tone Paint Job. Top Half Blue With Metal Flake, And Bottom Half White.
personally i think im going to go with number 2.... top white, bottom blue... but let me know what you think...
EDIT: if you dont know what it looked like then goto the below thread from what happen in the accident...

im trying to look at this as positive as i can and do alot of upgrades now... im finally getting around to doing alot of things i should have done before... im putting in a brand new rad, getting a locking sparco gas cap moulded in before paint, and umm actually im gonna keep a few details secret for now...

ok i have a problem... ok they say im missing the front re-bar i think it was called that goes accross the front of the car underneath the bumper... i think mike(previous owner) took the bar off to lighten the car... anyways they wont insure my car without it... i know we are affiliated with parkway honda so is there anyone on here that works at parkway for parts that i can pm?? or when i call parkway honda who should i ask for, so they know about the TCC discount??

anyways, two tone paint is negative. I wouldn't do it unless it's just two shades of the same color maybe (like silver and champagne)
the front rebar was prolly removed because of the body kit, most kits don't fit with the rebar intact.

ive decided to just go the same blue as before this time except instead of white ice in the paint again im gonna just add metal flake.... not sure if im going with blue or white metal flake yet tho... but yes about the rebar i remember him talking about it.. he removed it to lessen the wieght of the car for the track... but the bodyshop is gonna put one back on so its street legal again... i just gotta buy one... he said they were around $100... hopefully they are.. and it sucks my tcc membership isnt valid right now lol cause i was on my way to a meet to renew it when i got hit... now i neeed it for parkway lol...

At least you can say it was on TV, at least as 1SikSol
Speak to Brett at Parkway. He's a great guy, especially when it comes to TCC members. He'll crack you up too I bet
bbarbulo: I didn't even know anyone was making the roofs for this car. What company? I want one for my Supra if someone's making it.

there was a custom run done for one of the del sol clubs in the states. so now that the mould is made, they can make more whenever there is demand. I could find out the name of the company, but ... I'm too lazy
I don't think there are any for the supra cuz older targa top supras aren't as high volume production cars as the del sol was.
