OSRAM Silverstars are comparable to the Philips VisionPlus (which I run in my headlamps)... good bulbs — no blue tint, claimed 50% better light output. (read the reviews on the site)

OSRAM Supers are excellent bulbs too (running those in my foglamps)... good bulbs — no blue tint, claimed 30% better light output. They also have a version that has a yellow tint for inclement weather.

Philips BlueVision are just like any other blue tinted bulb... well, not AS bad as some, but they do work like other blue bulbs. You lose some light output because of the tint.

I suggest you read the reviews.

i realize they're not blue tinted, so osram silverstars and those supers are not "white" as those blue tinted bulbs or those blue visions right?

i thought those silverstars had a little blue tint in them???

because they're not tinted, i guess they're still yellowish in colour but a really light yellow? correct me if i'm wrong ryanhook, since you have them on your car....very much appreciated. thanks.

i just checked their site and they have those new philips longer life bulbs. they have a blue tint on them, so i figured they're white as those philips blue visions?

they're about the same price as well. if those philips longer life give out the same white and lasts longer...those would be a good buy over blue visions. opinions?

by the way, are those prices in Euro dollars or German marks or....???

The prices are in British Pounds guys... the company is in the UK. Go to www.xe.com to do a conversion to CDN.

The OSRAM Silverstars (not the US market Sylvania ones), the Philips VisionPlus, and the OSRAM Supers are all clear bulbs (no blue coatings) so the light is white (not blue white) but slightly whiter than normal bulbs.

As for the long-life Philips bulbs, I don't know anything about them. Take a look at Philips' European site: http://www.eur.lighting.philips.com/...eur/index.html

ryanhook: so i guess they're not like the xenon "white" i guess. but i thought those blue visions have a really light blue coating tho? and i think they produce the white i want, but may produce too much blue.

all i'm looking for are some white white lights and not some yellowish white or bluish white. i think those silverstars and supers are yellowish white...but do correct me if i'm wrong.

European OSRAM Silverstars, OSRAM Supers and Philips VisionPlus produce unfiltered white light. North American Sylvania Silverstars (such as those posted by d0pey) have a coating on them to produce that cool white or pseudo-HID look (call it whatever you want). I will admit, the Sylvania Silverstars do look nice... and not cheap blue like the other ricer lights on the market.

If you want those bulbs, as G2 Racer about them... he has a set. If you want good bulbs with NO filtered light then talk to me about the European bulbs.

i want to know how to get those sylvania silverstars too cuz on their site (sylvania.com) it states that they only ship within the US.

but for osram silverstars and philips light bulbs, powerbulbs.com and autolamps-online.com have them for sale.

ebay is the place.
I paid 45 US for mine .... just installed them today.
HOLY **** is all I have to say, the intensity is not HID but man are they quality bulbs.
I noticed the difference once I put them on.
They're 100000 times better then my crappy euro "Rice" Lights
and they make the Cool Blues look yellow.
GET THEM, they're worth every penny !!!!
