Painting , how long does it take before driveable?

I'm thinking about painting my valve cover and my front and rear calipers.

I'm not gonig to remove them, just going to cover up the disc brakes, and just spray them.

Just wanted to know about HOW long do i need to do all of this *(including how long the car isn't driveable) and I'm guessing i should do calipers one day, and valve cover another.

Its driveable after it dries, but I dont know how well your paint will last. Id say about 24 hours for the paint to cure properly.

Make sure you seal your valve cover properly. If you take it off.

u can paint ur calipers and as long as u didnt soak them in paint u can drive after 20 minutes

i drove 10 minafter, my application was

since my calipers are not smooth like aftermarket ones they are kind of rough and stoney looking i used hi heat engine paint sprayed into a cup, use a bunch of sponge brushes and apply, didnt need to mask anything bc the breaks will clear off any overpaint and i jus brushed on so no real overspray. i wud say every 10 months it fades bu its still visible color it jus looks dirty not that bad unless ur rocking yellow or bright color calipers

all depends.

make sure you clean it nice before appying the paint so it covers nice and doesn't fish eye.

also a good idea for ya is to go for a drive for say 15mins or so . wipe it clean and then with it warm apply the paint in light coats, you will be more cappable of driving it sooner do to the warmth of the valve cover to quicken up the curing time. just a little trick i guess, especially if your not removing it.

good luck and post finishing product up.

so how often do they need to be redone though? Not a crazy fan of redoing amod over and over again cause its waste of time :P , thoguht it'd look nice since i have itr rims.

Regarding the valv cover paint, i need to remove paint from it first so probably for sure needs to be removed

it is a good idea to if its still on there heavily.
if not just scrape of excess paint or sand and feather out the edges and paint her up.

also if you remove it, its always a good idea to get a new valve cover gasket to throw on when you put the valve cover back on. think its approx $20 from honda.
