Osram SilverStar - how many ppl???

Hey all,

I have access to Osram Silverstars from Europe. Question is, how many ppl wanna do a group buy?? And what would you be willing to pay, I mean, what do you think is a fair price. Thing is...I gotta see how many ppl want them, and will front the money so I can get them shipped (shipping is $$$), so I think they ought to sell for about $85 shipped to your front door. If you take a look, the cheapest Sylvania SilverStars I've found were $75, so considering these are supposedly better, an extra $10 is no big deal, right? So, give me an idea of how many ppl wanna try this.

Mods, I'm not selling anything, just gauging interest. If this is in the wrong forum feel free to "adjust"

I think dopey's are Sylvania Silverstar...same thingy, but these are supposedly even more cuz in Europe they don't have a requirement for light emission control, so they have no filters on it, which gives off an even purer light. The North American ones have some sort of filter on them. Osram ones are the ones everyone seems to want, but no one can get. So, if I can help everyone out by getting some, why not. I was originally gonna buy 100 units myself, but then I did some quick math, and 100x$85 is $8500, which is more than I'm willing to front myself. So, I decided, whoever wants some can let me know, and I'll try to provide.

I haven't found a pic ever. I don't speak german, so it's hard to search for a picture from a german site. I buy, I try, I replace

That's Sylvania Silverstars there... but you can't expect your monitor to reproduce the light exactly... it should give you a good idea though.

hahaha...just after i posted i see this post.

do check out the site BPBSI posted (i have posted the same site in the powerbulbs.com post) cuz i think it best describes the diff between the two!

from what i understand, osram doesn't give the same brighter white as sylvania's. i guess that's what the blue coating is for...for a brighter white!

so if you want more light output but less white, go with osram.
more white but less light output, go with sylvania.

what are they trying to say?? That Sylvania is better than Osram? IMO, since they can only sell Sylvania, that's why they say this. But I don't know since I have never seen either actually installed...this is why I wanna get some Maybe I'll do this on my own first, then post some pics for you guys.

94EG6HB, I was asking ppl what they wanted to pay for these...I mean what's fair. Cuz say they cost $100 and ppl don't think it's worth it, then I won't do it. I estimate the total cost shipped to your door will be about $85, but I don't have any firm pricing yet. Basically, what I'm asking is... who here would pay $85 for a pair of Osram Silverstars? Also, if you have another bulb that's only available in Europe (like yellow headlights) lemme know and I'll look into it. Does that make sense? Also 94EG6HB, H4H is that not just a normal H4, or is that something special for me to look into?

Sylvania and Osram are the same company, except Osram makes non-North American products, which means they don't have to comply with DOT regulations....so some bulbs the sell there and not here may in fact be better than what we get here. This is an opportunity to buy something not available here... I am getting them for myself regardelss of the price, I just wanted to see if anyone else was interested.
