nice job, thats the only way to do it, right the first time, and re-weld everything up.
id be scared to cut my car though.... |
It was scary at first, thats why i started on the rear bumper mounts, that way no body would see if i made a big mess. Bezena was up last night to take some pics for a painting quote. He showed me how to finish up a couple spots i wasn't sure of, hopefully it will be in the shop in the next week or so. I should no later today...

Kick ass Brett!
Looks like you've come a long way from your test welding sheet metal on the bench when i came up to see you. If i ever need to haul up my car for a bit to do some work. I know to hollar! |
OMG!! That is crazy to see, hurt my heart~
thats a lot of work man.. goodluck
ouch..... looks stressful..... but also seems like it will be very rewarding in the end...... keep up the good work
It's looking good so far, I can't wait to see the final results. I would be scared to put everything back together.
putting it back together is the easy part. Learning to weld, cutting apart and welding back together is the hard part
Question, did you actually cut out a piece of metal and form it into the shape or did you buy a cross canada 1/4 panel and cut it and make it fit?
BTW: You're my IDOL!!!! |
I purchased the quaters from djxquizt and had rocker bent to shape. But there where many smaller patches that i just cut some metal and beat to shape with hammer...
what kind of primer as u using???
At the moment just Tremclad spray balm. Im mainly primering now so my welds don't rust before the body shop...
Thats some great work so far!!! Can't wait to see the final results.
use zinc mixed primer
or u will regret it later. |
Yeah, i have some of that as well that im going to spray on the seams on the inside. Then us some epoxy seam sealer.
