Smile NEEED MAJOR HELP,,installing....

I recently bought the new light bulbs for my 98 civic si.
....and i cant install them properly........this is my prob. --->
i bought the bulb in and then ther eis this steel clip thing that goes over it or around the bulb to keep it in its place and firm.
Well man. ...i cant not figure out how that clip goes on, i bought it on half-*** and i think its good and i go to put the rubber seal back on and plug the light in, and the dam light bulb pops out from behind the steel clip. so i said screw it and left it the way it was, but ov my light beam would be f'ed up at nite, which it was
I knwo this sounds gay, but does anyone have tips or D.I.Y or help on how to replace light bulbs!..specifically that steel clip thingy!!
thanks!

Push the clip into the little slit, and then push it down so it clips onto the hole and stays there.

You don't need to play with the screw to get the clip off. Well, it is not really "off" the light housing but just off the slit, cause the other side of the clip is swingable if you know what I mean.

Get your owner's manual out, it has a diagram in it.

the clip looks like a triangle... 2 of the corners are attached, and the 3rd (opposite of the first 2) corner swings.. press that corner in (towards the front of the car) and while it it pressed in, move the clip up (or down, i cant remember). while it is pressed up/down, let it go back towards the rear of the car, and it will swing out of the way.. take out the lightbulb.. to put it back in, put the lightbulb in the housing, leave the harness plug off, swing the clip in place, push it up (or down) press it towards the front of the car, align it in place to it falls behind its little catch, and let go.. then put the plug on, and you are done.. its just a little more complicated than putting in gas..

Those things are a pain in the ***.....worse in the winter when your fingers get nice and cold....just keep pushing in and to the left...you will finally get it to click.
Good luck

Which side light bulb are you having trouble with? If its driver's side , pull out your power steering resevoir out of the way and you'll have more room to work with and its much easier. Just bring it to Canadian Tire and park your car in the parking lot , walk to the auto garage and ask someone to help you. If they're not ****** they'll just come out in the parking lot and put it on for you in 2 mins. Either that or they'll charge $16 to actually bring your car in and do it. I work at Canadian Tire auto service and I get lots of people that just walk up and ask me to help them put light bulbs and stuff in their car and I do it for free all the time. Sometimes they tip me too =)

In my civic, you just unclip the bracket, and twist the bulb out. If you wanna get techincal wit it, you can take out the headlight so you can get a closer look. Jus pop off the bumper and unscrew the headlights and disconnect em. btw i have an american civic so it might be differnt.
