My plans for paint... opinions?

My plans for paint... opinions?
Ok, I have a 91 Civic Si Hatch in red. I want to do something different with the paint but have it still look very clean and crisp. My brother (who is a huge car buff himself) made a suggestion that I really liked. We talked it over and the outcome of the talk was this.
The car gets painted in a two tone. Red on top and silver on the bottom. There will be a gunmetal silver stripe that seperates the red from the silver. The gunmetal stripe will likely flare into a flame or something near the back. Then the whole thing will be clear coated with a hint of red in it to give the silver a sort of flip-flop red look, so the whole car still "feels" red. Not sure if I want the red to be a metallic or not. Oh, and the side molding is going to be replaced with a paintable molding so that it will be a matching silver with the lower part.

The whole two tone with flames doesen't really make the car clean imo.
I hate red, but if you go with red I like the red Brett has.
There's a few pics over here, take a look

For some reason, I can't visualize exactly where the colour demarcation in your plan would be. If there was a photoshop of it, maybe then I could say something one way or the other :P
As it is... if you think it sounds good, then I say do it.

I personally wouldnt do it, i think the stripe into the flames is what will ruin the car. I really like the idea of 2-toning the car, you just gotta make sure to use 2 colors that will go well with each other and find the proper line on the car to divide them. What about going with black on the bottom and red on the top and use a silver pinstripe to divide the 2 colors? I think that would look awesome and it would be different than the ones that people usually do with color on the bottom and black on top.

DONT DO IT.
a stock car with a two tone paint is soooo ghey.
imo if you wanted to do that two tone theme do this....
get a 4 piece wingswest RS kit without the 2 door caps.
cut your factory bumpers and mould the kit into it to give it the ultimate fit. then do some cutom work ie. shaving mouldings antenna emblems, etc.... then paint the top half of the car with black paint and the bottom half red paint and the line seperating them in gunmetal. and to finish it off give it a light gold flake all around the entire paintjob. and clear it.
the best everrrrr....
SILVER and RED doesnt go good together often.
RED AND BLACK is BEST.

the color contrast is TOO much... silver and red totally don't go together.
if anyting same basecoat, and just do a two-tone clearcoat... one with a lil bit of flake, one with no flake. I'd wanna see brown metallic plus ghost flames with amber corners and on gold wheels
