Max pressure of water to use on car???

I want to buy a pressure washer to clean my cars. I was wondering how much is the most pressure i should be using and what is the minimum pressure i need for the pressure washer to even have an effect. Basically what i am asking is what i should use in terms of max and lowest pressure that i should be using (in psi).

u can use a 1900psi pressure washer (the most powerful electric gas pressure washer made by simoniz) with no problem, however, they do come with "turbo" nozzles that up the psi about 1000psi but i wouldnt use that on your car unless you want to carve your name into your car.

Just use a normal garden hose. No need for a pressure washer.

it doesin't really matter, just don't put the nozzle 1 inch away from the car and start ripping it, hold it back a couple of feet and your good

50 psi is sufficient. Unless you're buying the pressure washer for other things (like a deck, siding, etc...) it's not really worth it, IMO.

Put the money towards something else for your car.

The reason I say that is because my parents bought one and I used it a few times. After that I didn't feel like hauling it out anymore. They're useful for cleaning the deck, though. And spraying down the driveway, too.

I rented one from home depot last year to clean my deck before I put protectant on it.. I wouldn't use it on my car tho.. like others said I just used a mit, car wash soap and a regular hose and some elbow grease..
