You put the lip on, put 4 screws into the ends of the lip and you are done. There is nothing more to it.

oLooks good

only problem may be the lip moving everytime you hit a bump or go on a bad road... I had to put my lip back in place almost everyweek because it will move

Since i m not planning on removin the lip i took it to a bodyshop and they glue (silicon) my lip to my bumper. Something to think about if you find your lip going out of place often .

Mine was ok the first few months but then it was a mess

Eg lips supposed to have screws holding it in the centre, but I suggest against it, or putting silicone on it. If you will lower your car, you will brake it or rip it off. Atleast for me, I had no choice but to let the lip slide. At over 2" drop, its hard not to scrape, and since my lip can move around I hit almost everything I see without a worry.

Whoever came to honda show off event, remembers me going up on the dyno. Lol it was epic.

Nah, I am not going to lower the car. I just put two screws on the side for the lip and seems quite sturdy. Just need to get the 205/45/16s now, running 205/55 and i rub bad during tight turns.

Yay for monster truck status. What makes it funny is that you can't and I mean can't touch the top of my tire in the front and I don't rub at full lock.

the problem with mine is the it slide underneath my bumper , therefore hanging lower than what its supposed to be. The only way I found to keep the lip as high as possible is to put silicon

with the above picture , you can see i have a good 6- 7 fingers clearance off the ground. And the lip is holding strong . I even had it two on a flatbed and the lip did not come out at all , even the tow truck driver was surprise at how strong it was. ( he event told me it will break but it dint ) . I have not issues pulling in or out of driveways

However without sylicon the lip will slide underneath my bumper , dropping my clearance to 3-4 fingers tops . Very easy to break is you pull into the driveway as you are hitting it straigh.

with just screws my first lip was also firm at first, I found out that as time passed by the lip will expand or become more loose , making it easier to slide under the bumper .

At least thats how I lost my first lip , it was hanging undeneath my car with only 2 screws holding , so it didnt take long for me to loose it on hurontorio

I do agree though that it depends on how much you lower your car, as far as I remember your eg was lower than my car, so I can see how it will be a problem securin that lip . But if your car is not lower , or if it is kind of lower like mine , I would think its better , just because it is easier to loose your lip when it hangs underneath your bumper.

^I think he means 'silicone'. As in silicone caulking or glue.

Personally, I added a few extra screws across the front (maybe 2 or 3 underneath) to hold my lip up in place...

first thing is first. Do you plan to keep your lip all year ? or are you thinking of taking it out before the winter starts. If you only want to have it for whatever is left of the summer and fall then dont even bother . Just make sure your lip doesnt hang below your bumper as you more than likely loose it pulling in driveways, plazas , condominiums etc.

If you plan on keeping it there , then silicone ( or whatever it is) is a type of glue that pretty much attaches your lip to your bumper , therefore it wont move at all , and it you place it high enough (like mine in the pic) it will stay far off the ground. My car is lowered ( no sure how much) and like you can see i still have a lot of clearance. Never had a problem pulling in or out of driveways, i even go fast and never scraped it ( actually i did twice but for a different reason).

Problem with putting silicone or whatever compound to attach your lip is that it will be very hard to take it out , and if you do take it out then your bumper may have to be repainted as the bottom paint will be scratch .

The only reason i decided to glue the lips there is because i was tire of my lip hanging out below my bumper , it looked bad and it was dangerous. Pulling in a driveway with your lip hanging out that low will destroy it. Actually thats how i lost my first lip

However like i said before, my first lip was only attach with rivets ( same as screws) and it was fine the first 2 months, it was after that it became loose, and the more i tried to fix it the more loose it will become. At some point at had to put super glue ( from the dollar store) so that it didnt go below my bybumper.

here is a pic to give you an idea of how low my car is

Smart desicsion, my friend!

Though you are running over sized tires... That is the only cause of the rubbing while turning at or near full lock.

Yuh not a big fan of lowering, a lot of hazards that come with it. I bought used rims off Kijiji and they came with these tires, the tires were in good shape (80% thread left) so I figured I would use them for this summer and replace the tires to 205/45 (i believe that is the stock size) next summer. I have the stock 14 steels for winter. I just don't do sharp turns lol

Rick, the black civic is just low enough. Wish I could drop more...but since I want to keep my fender liners, I can't.

I wonder if I should take the lip off in winter as 14 inch wheels might make the car very low to the ground.

^depends on the tire size, not the rim size. The tire size should remain as close to the stock diameter as possible, regardless of the rim size.

I used to remove my front lip and side skirts for winter when my car was lowered. Then I recently did this to it: http://www.torontocivics.com/f19/pro...stance-171942/

Got tired of dealing with speed bumps etc...
