HID question

HID's are illegal, even if they are retrofitted.
Civic's never came with the proper housing for HID's, therefore they are illegal. Just because your driving with them, and never been pulled over for them. That doesn't make them legal.
btw, I wouldn't bother with 12k or 8k. Light output is probably crap. Stick in between 4300K and 6000K.

Whether you decide to use a retrofit or not, its still illegal.

Retrofitted HID's will aim the light better, therefore less glare. Retrofit HID's will have a clean cutoff line, where as non retrofit HID's will not have a cutoff line.

Just to clarify some peoples doubts.
HID is NOT ILLEGAL.
In the states YES in canada NO.
Sure they can glare a person living eyes out still doesnt change the fact that there is no law that says specifically HID is illegal like it does in the states.
However you can still get a ticket for light thats not focused.

^ Thanks for the clarification, but as long as one can get a ticket for having the HIDs it's almost like making them illegal.
I have never been pulled over for them and have had them in my car for more than 1 year.

technically any modification to your headlights that affects the light being output is illegal right?
yeah make sure u stay down in the usable light range, 8 k is nice but try driving around with 8k in the rain and you might as well have ur lights off
