i think the osram ones are european, and they're a little more yellow than the sylvania ones, but they're the same company in essence, and i donno i think my sylvania ones are equal to the PIAA's i had before..... and cheaper.... also the light pattern seems to be much sharper with the cut off and stuff, i'm really satisfied,

don't worry Joe, no colours, it's pure white light, and even better than with the PIAA's when you look into the headlight with the lights off during the day, you don't see the blue tinge...

Agreed, they are just covering themselves. I had my old set of Coolblues for 2 years without any problems. Sylvannia is a major lighting company and make OEM quality bulbs, so I don't think you have to worry about them not lasting long.

I also agree they are alot different than most of the so called "rice" bulbs out there that are just simply coated with blue and give off a bluish light.

I used to run Sylvannia Xtra Vision, like the silver stars but more yellow to them.

They were a kick *** bulb!

There was a thread on OSRAM Sliverstars awhile back. I just ordered a set form www.powerbulbs.com as some others have. (1nicesi and ryan have rodered from the site) Site is based in UK, and offer free shipping and have a special on now, you get a set of signal bulbs or something free.

I'll hopefully get them in soon...let ya know how they are.

Remember guys, there are no such thing as a miracle bulb. The silverstars are brighter because they draw a higher current, thus they don't last as long as regular bulbs (expect 12 months or less).

Just picked some sylvannia silverstars up from CT today, put them in and they look pretty nice. I like the white shine without the blue reflection. There nice and don't attract way too much attention. I like them, but I sure hope they last longer than 1 year. I had PIAA's before, they were nice too but had some sorta funny purple yellowish shine and were hella $$$ 150 if I'm not mistaken, but they died 9 months later

Thats not true, the Silverstars use the same wattage as your stock bulbs.

if they draw the same wattage, how do you think they get brigher? By better technology? No way. Like I said b4 expect the life time of there bulbs to be same as rice bulbs.

One week ago on this day I ordered my H4 Silverstars fomr www.powerbulbs.com. They arrived today in the mail. They are packaged under the OSRAM name, parent company for Sylvania (I think) sold in Europe. Ordered these before Canadian tire decided to sell them here, not sure if they are different in color or what. Anyway...

Ripped out my blue coated "rice bulbs" that just weren't cutting it for night driving. Put the new Sliverstars in place.

With one blue bulb and a Sliverstar the sliverstar did look more white rather than blue...which was good.
Put both bulbs in and took it for a drive at 10 @ night down a twisty road and I was amazed. So much more light actually makes it on the road and road signs/markings are illumated much more.

All in all great thus far...lighting the road much better than before.

Hey Mugen C!

Check out http://www.sylvaniaautocatalog.com/sylvania/index.htm and you'll see what applications they have for all of Sylvania's auto lights!

yes it is by better technology....
if it was just as simple as drawing more current then they could charge 30 bucks for rice bulbs too..... better technology might enable them to handle more power..... how much current something draws is hardly an indication of how well it works....

you know what? maybe you are right, so every amp for car audio that draws alot of power must automatically be **** quality because quality stuff doesn't use much power...

All I'm saying is that the reason the silverstars are soo much brighter is because it draws more current, thus they only lasts 12 months.

Good quality products (including car amps) last more than 12 months. Just use common sense.

Peace.
