Flip Flop Trunk conversion

Does anyone kno if there's a way to do a flip flop trunk conversion on a 93 civic? I looked at the newer civics but the arms connected to the trunk are easier to do the conversion on. Is there a cheap and easy way for hte 93 without buyig the kit?

edit: here's a pic of my trunk hinge

I know bbproductions, Notorious, Renegade 8 and Gutro had a meeting, and did the flip-flop trunk on all their cars. You could ask them.

a diy i don think so...
we did 4 cars in one daya, the actual trunk biit don take long @ all, we spent the day well cause we were chillin, parts your looking like $4 which is hilareous since they sell kits from $100+ and mostl likely have the same things we bought, u don need the latch, we all found that for stability as its all our daily drivers that we would just use the stock bolts and undo for shows...
come to a meet we can show you the setup and u can def diy...
we don want all to have them now do we

I jus realized that ur 96 has a completely different and easier diy flip flop than the 93 which i have. ur ride jus has the one 'bar' connecting to the trunk right?

You just need a 10mm to unscrew one bolt on each side, and the trunk transforms to flip flop.

If you want to use latches, you could run into problems down the road.
Its not like your gonna have flip flop while going grocery shoppin right?

For 5th, 6th, 7th gen its all the same.

We did like 4 cars over 3 different generations, and they both had two bars supporting the trunk. I have no clue what your talking about blksheep

lol yeah trus me we're experts with all generations except efs lol...
we had 5th, 6th, and 7th gens to work on
all worked the same, mounting locations different but mounting procudure the same

the latch is not as secure as the stock bolts are... and to kknow what we're talking about you have to see what we mean.
and like mentioned above you won't use the flip flop trunk everywhere, we use them for shows, and when needed in bout a min we have a flip flop, or regular trunk, but with aded stiffness of the stockbolts...

My trunk is different, it doesnt have 2 arms commin from under the roof of the trunk. mine are outside the weather strip and are kinda cris-crossed extender bar things with hydrolic shocks.

I been lookin for a while but i can only find the 2drs with jus the 2 arms.

there were 2 egs coupes. when we were installing them, both installs were the same, different years same trunk stlye.

if yours are not arms by hydrolics then installing a flip flop trunk will be harder, and u will loose use of the shocks/lifts. also finding instrusctions will not be easy as install /rocudure is totaly different

the problem is not 4/2 door its the fact that he has hydro lifts not arms liek we all do, having a flip flop trunk he has no way of doing them if no lift arms are there

Thumbs down

hmm.... i guess i prob have to go the a scrap yard and pick up those arms and try and convert them that way... unless they have a kit for my car out there which i probably doubt.

edit: i haven't gone to the scrap yard yet, jus want to get more info again on any other way around it... wll be going to the scrapyard come spring if all else fails.
