Close your hood but don't lock it down and let the car run for about 15 mins..

Open the hood and you got an amazing showroom shine.

imported_phuviano 07-Jul-2004 10:45 PM

at CDN tire they use gunk degreaser to clean engine bays. I just thought I would let you guys know that. The cost of cleaning a engine bay there is $45.00 (I think, somewhere around that price range).

The bottle cost them less than 8.99, and they charge an arm and leg to power wash your engine bay. You can do the exact same thing if you have a pressure wash and a bottle of gunk degreaser.

How do I know all of this??? I use to work at CDN tire, LOL. I actually got to clean someone's engine bay one day.

imported_1999blksi 07-Jul-2004 10:53 PM

CDN tire rips ppl off PERIOD

nothing new

Gunmetalef 07-Jul-2004 10:57 PM

gunk is good and heres the little secret: after that use tire foam and shine.. works wonders and makes the engine look great

imported_loudsubz 07-Jul-2004 11:40 PM

i got that castrol superclean degreaser from walmart in the pruple bottle, stuff is bad cause you need gloves for it, but cleans like no others does an amazing job

DJTre 07-Jul-2004 11:46 PM

I also use that gunk engine degreaser, and pressure washer and it works pretty good for me.

Si98 07-Jul-2004 11:54 PM

are these engine degreasers harmful on ceramic coated headers?

Simple Green Degreaser or Spray Nine

JASONR6 08-Jul-2004 08:45 AM

I just did mine myself, pretty simple. Buy a can of engine degreaser at crappy tire. Spray the engine with degreaser, let It sit for 10-15 mins for It work It's magic, and rinse off MILDLY, NO POWER WASHERS!! And away you go. I usually buy 2 cans and spray It down twice, just to get everything. You really don't need to cover anything, and I have done this probably 10 times, just try to avoid any sensitive electrical areas, you can spray them, just don't sit there for 5 mins spraying 1 spot.
