in the pursuit of weight reduction i'm thinking of taking my sunroof out partially... like i still want the window there.... but i dont want all the hardware holding it there.... is there a way i can like "clip" it into place without needing that motor or anything up there?? ideally i'd like to be able to take it out for racedays and have it in for the street sort thing....

anyone heard of something like this??

ps i dont want to remove it all and just weld a piece of sheet metal over the hole

if i was you id sjut leave it in man, for one if u evr sell the car that gonna make buyers not really want it, also its gunna b a chop job and ur gunna wreck ur car, and 3 ur not gonan loose all that much weight doing this

50lbs sitting in the worst possible place on the car is a fair bit... i'm not concerned about resale... and either way to the car is gutted right now so i'm not concered with that right now...

i'm just wondering if there is any clips or anything that will work... i'd like to lose as much steel from the roof in the process as there is a fair bit....

i was thinking of just getting a plasma cutter and cutting the whole roof off then welding a sheet of aluminum in... then putting a tubular x brace up there... including sunroof that has got to be 100 lbs saved right there

why don't u put a ragtop???

saw it in a civic before... i think it was in super street magazine

cause then the structure of the roof is shot... plus if in the event my car does flip at a track i'd like to have some metal between my head and the ground
