D2R or D2S HID bulb in stock headlights

Im getting a HID kit in the spring, and will be using it in my stock 99 SiR headlights.
I have a glare shield thats meant for D2R/D2S bulbs.

Im not sure what the difference is between D2R and D2S bulbs. Im pretty sure ...

D2S - Meant for Projector Headlights
D2R - Meant for Reflector Housing Headlights

Therefore, do I need D2R bulbs cause my stock headlights are reflector healights, rather than projectors ???

You can't use either d2s or d2r in your civic. I believe you need h4 rebased hid bulbs.

You can't fit d2s or a d2r bulb into a stock civic headlight.

I have an adapter + shield, that allows d2r/d2s bulbs to fit into H4 headlights.

even with the adapter...the bulb might not clear the reflector piece on top. unless you wanna take it out and make it look like the jdm version.

really, thanks for the info, greatly appricated.
I was just about to buy a D2R kit.

I guess I have to go with a H4 kit.

Anyone know where I can buy a glare shield, besides from the casper sheild website, they are too expensive.

every HID kit in halogen style headlights glares.

I looks so bad, and the shield helps alot, even though it reduces light output.

can anyone tell me if this will fit into my stock headlights without any problems. Inside of my headlight, will the bulb clear the reflector piece on top.

looks like the housing is cut in order to make the shield thing fit in there.. look at the last picture carefully

it doesnt look like anything was cut or modified to make fit. it does look like an aftermarket headlight because of the reflector cover in front of the bulb.

I dunno, it looks to me like there's square notches cut into the housing on the side and bottom.. doesn't look hard to do though if you need to do it..
