CIVIC (99) to 1.6EL Front End

Greetings,

I have all the parts, anyone know how to do this easiest way? Without serious issues?

Anyone know of a shop that does it? I will end up selling my CIVIC parts (entire front end) after this.

If anyone does, please email me @ real1st@rogers.com or call me @ 647-388-6405

If you own a shop or have experience and can do it, please contact me.

Time is of the essence.

some people dont even bother tryin these days.. they just post and wait for answers for reassurance.. refuses to do their own research.. pretty much handicapped. Do what markpa said.. its pretty easy, just dedicate a few hours to do it (includes beer drinking and being lazy for a bit)

the el frontend IS BEAUTIFUL - those square headlights are timeless... tho i've seen a barrage of mesh grills in el fronts that look bad

it's all in the execution

Why don't I do it myself?

Lets see..

I have heard conflicting reports about whether its direct bolt-on, and it turns out it is not.

Half people think that you need a REBAR, others think you need a Light Beam Support, in the end, I went with the LBS, since it is the piece between the bumper and lights, and the majority said LBS and not Rebar.

Its not simply taking it off, and putting it on, there is electrical wiring that I do not know about, and rather than destroy it, I wouldnt mind having it done professionally.

Simple as that. A bit of money, a whole lot of peace of mind.

electrical wiring = extending the turn signals to go from the headlight (EK) to the bumper (EL)

The EL is simple to bolt on with the only technical part being extending the wiring for signals.

If you want to know what it costs...call some shops and ask "how much does this cost". If you want to pay, up to you, but labour would probably be atleast 4 hours at $70 an hour, so look for atleast $300 for a shop. An individual may do it for $100-$150.

I personally love the EL front end and the 99-00 grill (different then the 97-98) looks great in mesh with that chrome insert that only teh 99-00 has. You can also remove the clear corner of the EL headlights and do the CTR look as well (DIY) if thats your cup of tea. Can also make DIY clear bumper lights which look nice. Lips are 96-98 civic lips and you can really make it look top notch. almost all EL front mods are DIY though, so if you don't feel comfrotable doing this, I doubt you'd feel comfortable taking apart the headlights for any DIY work.

Either way man, good luck on the conversion, although i'm not a big fan of the EL on EK hatch as the *** end of the hatch is huge and the EL front is sleek....looks odd to me

Sorry to say but your wrong too.

not only do you have to extend the wires you will need to change the sockets, on top of that you will need to get wedge plug sockets and splice is another 2 wires per side for the corner light to work.

bolt on yes. wire up? not plug and play or a matter of extending wires at all.
