In painted exterior plastics which one is better.
it seems as though everyone uses the base/clear method
why?
Someone shed some light on this issue please.

I just painted my front lip and some peices with an acrylic enamel one step paint. I did several layers of a flex fill primer then 6-7 layers of paint.
The finished product is nicely color matched but appears to be duller. From what i have been told you do not need a clear coat when using acrylic enamels, so how do i bring out the gloss finish?
Will a good polish lighten it up?

it might be duller if you have some 'dry spray' on there, which can be fixed with some wet sanding and polishing. other than that, there is no difference in the sheen factor between the two methods.

acrylic enamel will always have a dull type finish to it.
