in the write up you said for an EG you needed 7 or so #74 bulbs, but, in the pictures it says #24, just want to be clear before i start ordering. :)

oops sorry so many numbers they are all jumbled. regardless for an eg u will be needing these model numbers for your eg or #74

T1.5 Instrument LED bulb
1-LED Instrument Cluster and Gauge illumination bulb. #74 LED bulb installed in twist-lock socket base Available with White,Blue,Green,Red and Amber Wide Angle LED

$ 1.79 from

B8.5D-x Instrument Cluster LED bulb - This is a little bit brighter then the 1.5, but cheaper and the website say that is is smaller but upon changing them for these they ended up being brighter. I believe so bc they are shorter which allows the light to distribute wider instead of the t1.5 being longer and hitting the bakc of the cluster instead of the wider beam emitting on the white gauge of the cluster which is translucent.

Smaller version of T1.5 seen above
Select LED Color

cbrkp 20-Mar-2008 01:22 AM

thanks for posting up I was going to eventually do the same thing and buy them from superbrightleds as well, thumbs up!

cbrkp 21-Mar-2008 04:07 PM

anybody use any of superbrightleds products for their brake lights? I wonder how effective the replacement LED for brakes are like

truluder 22-Mar-2008 03:06 PM

does anybody know which bulbs are needed for the ek cluster?

si_ponz 22-Mar-2008 04:48 PM

u need 2 of the 174 type bulbs for sure, 3 if u want the ones on the front done too, and then some bigger lights (i got them at crappy tire with 2 led bulbs in them) and u unplug the old bulbs from the socket and plug those 2 bulbs in. thats what i did :) i took apart my whole climate control too to see if i could get them in there...turns out those bulbs are smaller then the 174's tho :(

brokenjaw 12-Apr-2008 02:49 PM

after reading this i decided it was something i should do too! i have the white guage faces with red numbers. i figured i would try the blue leds. also ordered the interior light. turned out pretty good, but as said before little bit of hot spots around dusk, but in full night it looks pretty good. the interior light is super bright too compared to the stock one, definately worth it for like 6 bux! also they shipped quite fast (using ups from superbright) ordered on a sunday and they were here by thurs.

sweet fairly easy diy!

Crazydragonclk 14-Apr-2008 10:07 AM

the dimmer works as brokenjaw said but you want it turned all the way up like the stock lighting as it is jus right when it is turned all the way up and too dim when anything lower

Yea I know this is old, but whatever. Just a question. Im doing this for my Integra cluster.
Is this the right bulb I should be using?

WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb
12 VDC 5-LED Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
Super Wide Viewing Angle bulb uses 4 radially mounted LEDs aiming out the sides and one High Flux LED on top
With built-in voltage regulator

bengali548 18-Jul-2009 12:37 AM

sorry to dig up but i have a question

im looking on superbrightleds.com but im so confused as to what bulbs to order

i know my ek has 2 #74 bulbs and 2 #194 bulbs as the main back lights is it possible to use 74 lights all around because i was told they were brighter and had a wider range

does anyone know the exact code for it (T1.5-xHP Instrument LED bulb ?) its going to be red

spike 18-Jul-2009 07:21 AM
