Post D.I.Y. Amber clock Write up (Pics)

Ok, first off I know I know...it's easy to do
But heres a write up with pics for a simple DIY

1. Materials: Your clock, tape, scissors, 2 Orange transparent folder tabs from grand & toy

2. Take apart your clock like so...the buttons will fly out so dont lose them!

3. Ok the tabs are folded over. You cut one tab in half and use 1 side of it, then use both sides of the other tab...3 Layers in total! The reason for this is I notice only 1 layer makes it look yellow...3 is perfect

4. Tape the cut out tab to the clock like so.

5. Finished product (worst picture ever). This still looks yellow but as you can see on the left I have a REAL JDM VTi cluster, this clock now matches up to it almost perfectly if you were to see it in person.

PS, the dimmer has been cut (red/black wire)

So in total it cost about 20 cents...or you could pay $60-80 for a real JDM clock that looks exactly the same...up to you!

another way...orange stained glass paint aka "jdm in a can"...same steps as above, but instead of using the plastic film spray the lcd with the paint, dry, reassemble and voila

Thanks. I will confirm that the clock CyniKal.Mindset posted looks to be the same colour as the one I did with the tabs.

although I could remove my JDM amber at any time

And to add to it, the clock is harder to see during the day now when the sun shines through the car...but I just got the clock so I dont really know if its like that OEM anyway

looks good at night, next step: Climate Control

Any store carrys tick tacks. And the best part it you get to eat them after
