if it revs up and down, that's not normal... it's supposed to rev steady at 1500 rpm I think... seems to be a pretty common Honda thing though...

up and down is not normal... steady hi-rev is ok, but not fluctuating.

So something's wrong with your car. In the winter time, my car upon start up idles at between 1250rpm-1500rpms and it's steady. Once it warms up, however, it's at a steady 800rpms or so.

I think that your car's trying to tell you that something's wrong with it so it might be a good time to get it checked out!

FAST IDLE VALVE!!

This valve controls your car's idle according to the coolant temp when your car is cold. Basically if the coolant is cold it allows more air thru, uppin your idle. It has only hoses going to it, no wires, it's purely mechanical.

As for up and down when warm, it could also be because your fast idle valve is really bad as in stuck open or seized, or your BISS screw on the throttle body is not adjusted properly.

Or you have an vac leak, but that's less likely to cause such a noticable problem.

a pcv valve is just an a simple air pipe that opens and closes with suction.. The up and down most likely is NOT caused by that..
