but buy it SOON (like this week/weekend) because update 1.1.2 is suppose to drop soon, which will break the jailbreak, which means no 3rd party apps and no unlock (for a while)

iPod Touch, same OS, almost the same profile (a little thinner then the iPhone), with wifi...
its essentially an iPhone without the phone (although its missing a few features, such as physical buttons for volume, external speaker, bluetooth, mail app, stock app, weather app, maps app)...and about $100 cheaper then a comparable iPhone...
Right now you can hack the Touch to include 3rd party apps, as well as iPhone apps (mail, stocks, etc)

thanks a lot guys..but the problem is ..i dont even know how to drive to buffalo..i might get lost or somethin lols..oh well i think im just gonna get one locally for $550 brand new..
..so viper u sayin i should get the one with 1.1.1 firmware? ..coz if theres a major difference between these and the 1.1.2 (ie. some new features, add-ons, special app, fixed-bugs..etc..) i dont mind waiting for a while for the 'jailbreak'...

u want 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 for that matter...1.1.2 isnt out yet...the jailbreak for 1.1.2 when it comes out might take a week or might take months but you dont have to worry about that yet
oh and driving to walden is so easy...if my sister can do it anybody can...$550 isnt too bad I guess tho

it wouldn't make sense that the ipod touch would sell for MORE then the iPhone (specially in teh US), nobody would buy it...

So if you get it this weekend you should be fine, next weekend is a lot more questionably (assuming 1.1.2 drops)...it might take a whiel to crack 1.1.2, who knows...

well finally got my iphone from buffalo today..the drive is not that bad..but at first i was intimidated by those U.S. highways but i managed to survive..
..well after getting back home i was just thinking how come people always say if u buy from U.S. w/e.. u save a lot of money..because if u think about it..when u buy something from let say buffalo..u have to pay the 8.75% tax plus the duty fees (14%) from the border coming to canada. So basically, u pay the same thing or even higher..
..because what happened..as i told u guys b4..ive never driven outside of canada ..so when the customs asked me if i have anything i should declare to them or something i said no.. then, he made me go to those inspection guys and they found out a bunch of clothings and shoes worth of $800 including the iphone..so he was like, mad telling us why we lied...but because he said at the end that we were like being honest to him..(because i actually gave him all the receipt) he was like hes gonna see what he can do for us..
so we lined up in the immigrant custom and he talked to one of those security cashier..and made us paid $200 something.. he was like ..since we were like being honest and not a jackass to him ..hes not gonna ask for some penalty fee for the iphone so we just paid the 14% for it..but for the clothing we paid the 14% plus the penalty fee of 17% for them..he said we should be thankful to him because he said if we just kept lying and arguing with him..he couldve given us not 17% but 34% on both the iphone and the clothings...
..so at the end, he said hes just going to give us a warning..but he said if we caught doing that again (and clearly told us that he already put our names on their record) ..we gonna have to pay a $200 penalty charge, confiscate w/e we had bought and tow my car...
..so after this experience..i just thought to myself whats the point of buying from the States if u gonna end up paying the tax anyways at the border plus the tax that u paid in the US..think about it…oh well sorry for my long and unorganized thoughts ..im just excited and itching right now to open and find out if I have the iphone 1.1.1 or the 1.1.2 because the guy told me he believes that they are still selling the 1.1.1 version…ok thanks.
