Unhappy What a weekend :(

Well, here is my weekend:

Nice friday afternonn, I wash my car and prep it for the ride to wasaga after work. So my car is all nice and clean and ready to go to wasaga. So on my way up, its around 8:30, dark, and on a sideroad, all of the sudden there is a little bump, nothing much, just a little tiny bump, didn't hear nothing bad. Keep driving. Get to my cottage, do whatever, then sleep.

Wake up saturday, go to turn my car on to go get milk, and I hear a sputtering sound. I look under my car, I notice a little hole in my pipe leading to my muffler. I wasn't to happy about that, but it didn't sound TOO TOO bad, so I didn't think anything of it. Just that I'd fix it when I got home. During saturday, and me being cautious of my car, I didn't drive it.

Sunday, still dont drive. Stay in wasaga till around 7:00 to play volleyball and baseball. Got in my car at 7:00, and drove home. Parents said I should keep my cell phone on and charged just in case something does happen. They were staying up 1 extra night. So, I'm driving home, I hit the 400 and its JAMMED PACK. So I get off at cookstown outlet mall road and take country road 9 to hwy 27 which would lead me and my car to the 407 to QEW. So i'm driving along hwy. 27, and while going up a hill, I hear a big KERPLOW, and cheshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, and I look in my rear view and SPARKS ARE FLYING. Cars honking behind me so I throw on the 4 ways and slam on the brakes and go to the shoulder. I shut the car off immediately and run to see what happened. Sure enough, the exhaust pipe and cracked right off and is dragging on the ground in the middle of the car. **** ! So then I thought, well, I know its not going back on, so I just tried to step on my muffler to see if it would break off and the muffler would fall to the floor and an easy pull out of the mid pipe and the muffler. Well no, the muffler doesn't budge. Now i'm just pissed and cars are driving by me in the dark (TONS OF THEM) and I guarantee they were just looking at me watching me step on my muffler and trying to figure out what the **** I was doing. Well, as I said, it didn't come down. So, I got on the cell and called my neighbours trailer number. I asked for my dad, and they went and got him. I told him what happened and he said he would call our friends that didn't come up that weekend from schomberg to come help me. I told them I was just past nashville road on hwy 27 on the side with my 4 ways on and for them to bring a HACKSAW and not to forget it. So, that was at 8:45 and I waited till 9:30 and they finally showed up (thank god). We had a look, and tried to cut down below to see if my muffler could just hang there still and it would be fine. But seeing as my car is too low and my rear sway bar was in the way, that was next to impossible. So then we had to cut the rubber hinges holding the muffler up which made the muffler fall to the ground. We then cut the exhaust pipe right near the muffler and twisted it off. We then put the muffler in my trunk as well with the 2.25" piping. Luckly it was cooled down by now. My car is so loud now, I can barely hear my music anywhere I drive

I left wasaga at 7:00 and I got home at 11:25. A usual 2 hour drive turned into a way to long drive. Now I gotta spend more money to keep the car on the road. Cant really drive my car now cuz its so loud too. Does anyone have any hook ups for exhaust piping and labour ? I am really upset now that this happened  I'm not angry, but more just upset. And to think of it, I was just saving money in bank account to payoff some of the insurance bill.

Take it to Quickmuffler on Dufferin (west side) south of Lawrence. Ask for Abe. He's the owner and my old neighbour. Does really nice work and is pretty inexpensive. They do all kinds of showcars and tuners, so there work is reputiable.

He did my cheapy exhaust and it looks/sounds great.

damn dude sorry to hear about that, is ur old muffler still usable? zoro does really good work, but u pay for it a little more than a private shop, but u get wut u pay for, i would recomend zoro, they are on 20 hwy by fast eddies , pretty close to u so u dont have to drive very far being that loud. umm i dunno if u shop it around and find anywhere charging under 250 for 2 1/4 cat back let me know i just bought a new muffler im gettin it put on this thursday gonna shop arounda bit but prolly end up going to zoro

the rubber hangers slip right off... didn't have to cut them. All that could have been taken care of sans any tools, but besides that when driving a modded car one should ALWAYS have tools with him... and yes, I DO carry a hacksaw in my assortment of tools.

Sorry to hear about your weekend... I had 3 days off work, plus the weekend, and I spend the entire time working on cars... at least I got a tan

1 - Very Dark

2 - Not enough tools

3 - Car was too low, and get right underneathe it

4 - Once we even got it off the hangers, we still had to hacksaw at the back of the muffler.

5 - Couldn't get it off the hangers because when we tried to lift it off, the other end of the pipe would just hit the bottom of my car.

I could make the list go on and on, but it is useless to do that. We tried everything. I didn't want to cut the rubber, but it was a last resort we had to do. I was even thinking after that, we could just slide out the whole pipe, but nope, being that my car is low, it was still impossible. We still had to cut it.

I took a look at the pipe today, I think that it was just a weld that broke. ? Seems like a pretty straight break even if it was a break ? I'll try and post some pics today. But for now, I just got off work (damn hard day) and I'm going to bed.

bbarbulo's right take it elsewhere.... one horror story is enough for me...

anyways tools are the key I keep my toosl with me and a jack ... when and if the car gets lowered I will keep 2x4's to roll the tires up on to the jack underneath...

the key is to keep the tools with you at all times....

That's a long ride trough PIG infested cities. They would hear him from miles away.

JPG did a good job with my exhaust, but I want on the weekend when they had only 2 staff members working. Otherwise it could have been my car kissing the pole

I got it done today at Zorro. I think I got badly ripped off. But I needed it to get done in time for work. I'm not going to post the price because I will be called an idiot, bla bla bla, and get flamed. So i'll keep it to myself

Why would you take it to Zorro? You should have taken it to my guy. I'm telling you he's cheap, and does amazing custom work.
