wouldn't the same apply if you went way up north or rural saskatewan? I've found that the biggest difference seems to be that we Canadians think we are different.

The population west of Toronto is next to non-existant, they really don't matter that much.
That's kind of what the US says about us, so maybe we are more like them than I would like to think.
We are not as religiously stupid as them. we understand why we continue to have separation of church and state.
We do not go around bombing countries for our own financial gain.
We give other countries a much higher percentage of aid than the US does.
We do not put anywhere nearly the amount of funds towards the military as the US does (even in times of peace)
We do not push our views on other countries, nor do we expect them to follow our cultural political society. (ie Cuba and China)
We do not publicly condone torture to gain intelligence (recent head of CSIS statement)
We do not need to have patriotism shoved down our throat.
We do not call someone a traitor when we speak against the government.
We are not hated by the rest of the world, yet we proportionately travel much more throughout it.
I can go on, but I would rather **** on a few other threads before I leave for the day.
The US does do a number of things I find much better than the Canadian gov't, but overall, I think Canadian culture is much more easygoing, relaxed, accepting, and open minded.

completely different, seein as there is no multicultral communities in rural saskatchewan like in major centers like texas, louisiana etc...so yes, canada is different than the states in that matter...also ask any foreign country who they like better, canadians or americans...we all know the answer

He was there for a good twenty minutes talking to us when the manager came and told him to get back to work.
he said the biggest difference was that people tended to keep in groups by their skin colour, whereas in Toronto, a lot of people geniunely did not care.

Well Bruce, you have good points, but most of them refer to the american government which i usually think of as seperate from Americans. Canadians share much more in common with Americans then with any other country....
