War in Iran
Yahoo News (not the most reliable source, but the gist here)
UNITED NATIONS - Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared Tuesday that Iran's disputed nuclear program is "closed" as a political issue and said Tehran will ignore U.N. Security Council demands and sanctions imposed by "arrogant powers" to curb its nuclear program.
Instead, he told world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly that Iran has decided to pursue the monitoring of its nuclear program "through its appropriate legal path," the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency.
When Ahmadinejad was ushered to the podium, the U.S. delegation walked out, leaving only a low-ranking note-taker to listen to his speech, which indirectly accused the United States and Israel of major human rights violations. State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said the U.S. wanted "to send him a powerful message."
and it goes on and on...blah blah blah
...
my thoughts
War is such an awful topic of discussion. It gets people all upset and political.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken a passing interest in what is happening in Iran these days: the holocaust summit dealy, and nuclear disarmament...
oh dear, its making me miserable already thinking about it.
The headlines have been getting pretty heated lately.
Who here is predicting war in Iran? I am thinking something will happen within the next 8 months. Does anyone else want to place a bet?
I'm not trying to be facetious or to get people arguing (though it might happen); just wondering what you guys think.

I doubt a war will happen unless it's backed by the rest of the U.N. The US government is barely capable of sustaining their presence in iraq and Afghanistan at this point. To initiate a full out war on Iran would be like slitting their own throats, especially for Mr. Bush.
I believe Iran knows that, is going to take advantage of this situation as best they can without pissing off the rest of the world.
