Go to your local community center. Plenty of volunteering there. With seniors or little kids with their afterschool camp.

I always find local city events do the trick, usually the event coordinator would have tons of connections on events types, I found it fun since events always turns out being a big party for the community. But big brother thing Sorta got in my idea, but never followed through with it. Would like some more info though, as well as options

Are you interested in helping out with children (such as at a school, daycare), or with adults (a homeless shelter, rehab, food bank), seniors, or a mixture of all? With you being located in Sask., Brett--I'm not certain what kind of programs are available.

You might want to start by calling the City, and they may be able to re-direct you toward a volunteer program in your area that could use assistance, or find out what sort of work you'd be willing to do.

aWesome attitude on your part, Sir~! Whatever it is that you choose, keep us posted and hope it works out for you. Oh, you're probably aware of this, but some volunteering positions may require a background/Police check or some training, esp if you're working with children.

^^ probabley a mix of children and adults. I have a fair amount of free time and not to many friends in Sask, So I figured volunteering might be a good way to kill three birds with one stone. Help less fortunate people, make new friends and waste away some of my free time!

I've got a copy of a recent criminal record check that I had done as we do work for the Regina Public School board and they require it...

Sorry Sha no updates. Been working 50 plus hours a week, and fighting a cold, so I havent had time for much else. I may have been a little premature in asking for ideas. But, between the ideas generated here and on facebook im sure I can find something I enjoy. As soon as I make a decision and start ill let you know...

Absolutely, Brett. Sometimes, it takes a while before ideas actually come to fruition, but you have the goal and that's the first part. I'm sure when it's time, something will come your way that works well for you.
