TSUNAMI SONG SEGMENT WILL AIR ON FLOW 93.5 FEB 2nd

I posted a thread here last week about the Tsunami song which I think most of you are aware of by now. If you aren't then educate yourself on the topic at: www.hiphopmusic.com

I sent e-mails out last week to sponsors and local radio stations spreading the word, and Dj Jemeni of Flow 93.5 has advised me they will air a segment on the radio tommorow morning (no specified time) regarding the tsunami song. I am pretty sure they will play the Jin track 'Tsunami Response'

Tune in to Flow tommorow morning and check it out. Keep spreading the word and sending out those e-mails.

*mods please don't delete again. I hope you will move to the General Discussion forum as this is a really important topic which deserves more exposure*

you're kidding me right?

With lyrics like
"So now you're screwed. Its the Tsunami. Go run and hide go and find your mommy. I just saw her float by. A TREE RIGHT THROUGH THE HEAD. AND NOW YOUR CHILDREN WILL BE SOLD TO CHILD SLAVERY"

Not to mention in the song they mention the word *****.

When is it TOO soon to do anything like this? It is NEVER acceptable.

Maybe if it was something closer to home you might stop to think about it. I mean after over TWO years nobody ever makes fun of september 11. And in september 11 a few HUNDRED people died... in the tsunami over 150 THOUSAND people are dead with like 90 THOUSAND still missing!

I understand people have their own opinions, but I just don't understand the apathy. I don't know what makes me more angry. The song, or the people who just don't seem to give a damn.

I think it is always acceptable.

freedom of speech.

you say people not caring making you angry... have you championed other causes or only this one because it affects you or someone you know?

Have you done anything to even show how much you care?

earthquakes happen all over the world... a lot of countries are ravaged all the time... over 3000 people a year die in bangladesh due to flooding... have you done anything about that? have you cared for that?

If you don't care until it affects you, are you really a caring person?

Look at superman.... everyone talked about what a great man christopher reeves was because of his 'help' to someone he suffered from... i would consider him a humane person had to supported research BEFORE his accident... or in charities other than what he was affected by.

What are you talking about BRUCE?

Yah I have spoken out a lot about a lot of different things. You don't know me or what I've done and you wanna come at me?

First off I don't know anyone who was affected by the tsunami. Second off I did do something. I sent out mass emails like a lot of other people to the sponsors at Hot97. Hot 97 has since taken action and fired some of the DJ's involved in the Tsumani song, and all major sponsors of the Miss Jones morning show who created the tsunami song have pulled their ads.

I also e-mailed Flow 93.5 and brought this to their attention and DJ Jemeni of Flow 93.5 aired a segment on the Tsunami song and played the Jin track this morning on the air. They tried getting Jin to do an interview but he is currently touring and he dosen't have time to do it.

I also went to this forum and ephatch.com the other forum I'm a member of and posted there as well to get the word out.

If I could have been there for the protest last week in NY I would have.

As for doing something for every cause in the world, you can't fix all the problems. I've done things in my personal life like contibute funds and clothing when posible and even donated time to Red Cross blood donor drives. You have to choose your battles and fight the ones you can fight. This is one of the battles I can help win. I can't go to Bangladesh and drop everything in my life to save the world, but at least I'm trying.

I do my part when I can. I'm just a poor student, not a multi billionaire who can donate 5 million in relief efforts to starving children.

So let me ask you this. What have you done Bruce? You sound like the kinda guy who sits on his *** and just criticizes other people while you do nothing. I don't know you, but don't criticize me cuz you don't know me. If you have a problem PM me. Keep this thread about the Tsunami song. Don't trash it with posts like the one you just put up please. Thanks.

I'm the kind of guy who no longer gives a flying fsck about society.

You've done something. Most people haven't. A serious congrats. I've done a few things, but I longer bother.

I do believe in freedom of thought and expression though.

As stupid as someones thoughts may seem, you can't force them to think differently.
