To those who shave their heads......

What do you use to shave it and what technique do you use when doing so?

I use my mach 3 turbo and nivea shaving cream pretty much on a daily basis. Never go against the direction of how the hair grows.

Yeah, I do that, but it still happens. Matt, how often do you shave? Everyday, every other day?

Thats what happens to us black folks when we shave.

If you go to some black salon's they will have bump/ingrown hair solution but since you live in durham you can just use rubbing alcohol.

I usto have a bad situation of hair bumps and I started using the solution and poof b gone

I only shave once a week otherwise mad irritation occurs...I could maybe do it 2 times a week but hell I hate shaving...so once a week it stays unless I have something very important to attend

amateurs.

i used to use a mach 3 until i lost it. i bought a fusion to get better lines on my facial hair.

i shave in the shower, no shaving cream, against the grain, no after shave.

the steam is better than any product.

no ingrown hairs, no irrititation.

take a hot shower, shave, use your hands to feel where you need to shave more, rise off with cold water to close the pours.

I realize Double B might have been shaving his head before I was born, but I think my way is the best way.

with curly corse hair ingrowns and bumps are the norm. When I'm out of shave cream I just go bare

After shaving my head bald for years, I'm with Bruce on this one.

Tried Mach ||| to Mach |||||, double edged safety razors, even the Head Blade, along with every kind of major name brand shaving cream / soap and followed that with (non-)alcohol / aloe-based aftershave balms... in the end, let nature rule:

As an every other night shaver, I start with a hot steam full blast shower, rubbing my hands against the grain to detect stubble, reshave, rinse, cold water to finish & seal the pores. I have above average skin sensitivity to inflammation, yet no redness, pain, swelling or warmth.

((Same technique works on the face for me, but swiping carelessly in a manner irrespective of hair growth direction on the neck is ill-advised.))

Saves time & $100's in 'skin care' products every year!
