Star Wars and Christianity??

Well....I have yet to see Star Wars III. However...when you examine the story line, does it not seem like Lucas mirrored his story from Christianity? Obviously with some different quircks and quarks.

"rogue Jedi Knight had founded the Sith, a singular dissident in a order of harmonious followers, a rebel who under stood from the beginning that the real power of the Force lay not in the light but in the dark. Falling to gain approval for his beliefs from the Council of the Jedi, he had broken with the order, departing with his knowledge and skills, swearing in secret that he could bring down those who had dismissed him.
He was alone at first, but others from the Jedi order who believed as he did and who had followed him in his study of the dark side soon came over."

The above was cut and pasted from a previous post..but it drives the point home. Also, we have a boy who is born, yet there was no dad.

1/3 of the Angels of heaven revolted against God, and they were banished to hell, where their purpose is to fight all that is good and pure.

Just as in star wars where a boy is born with no visible father, In Christianity, Jesus is born but the Father is God, not a visible human.

In the end, goodness in star wars will destroy evil, as is the case with Christianity, Jesus will return destroying all sin once and for all.

References to the Dark Side..the force...the light. All are seen in the bible as well.

Just wondering if anyone else see's the similarities. I'm sure there are more, but it's 9:30am, and I can't really think of any at the moment.

i think there are similarities just as can be said of the matrix...

but there are some differences as well, such as anakin (who becomes darth vader) is the father of luke (who is the one that saves them all) etc...

the bible and many stories are from it have many parallels in movies.

the bible is one of the greastest story books written and encompases a full range of human experience.

it's not only the new star wars series.. the first one as well.

balance is the key. the jedi's are not exactly correct either. what's the point of life if you put aside all your attachments and feelings?
