Squeegy Kids

I don't have any problems with them.
I usually say "don't touch my car" and they don't.
When they start to get close, I just turn my windshield washer/wipers on... and they get the point.
I think they're garbage people.

When I used to smoke, I gave cigarette(s). Nowadays, I saldom go to downtown, so not really a problem for me. If I had pocket change, I would.
When you live on the street, it is a different world all together. Not something us 9 to 5 people with a home can comprehend or rationalize.

And not all of your donated charity money goes to the needies either. But that's another issue.
One time, a squeegee kid actually cleaned my window with clean soapy water. I was quite happy and pleased. If you want to do something, do it right.

I'm not exactly a kid any more, and I've thought about becoming a "squeegie kid" more than a few times. Like them or hate them, I think it would be a great job. Seriously... You make an average of $1 to 5 dollars in change per car. I've been in cars when the driver gives a $20.
Let's leave it at $1 a car. You can do 2 cars every 5 minutes. That's $24 an hour... and that is if you only get $1 per car. If you make $2 a car that's $48 an hour! You can make your own schedule, no rules per say...
Those "kids" make more money than you do on average.
*edit* - oh yeah... lets not forget you don't pay taxes on all that either, so if they are on some kind of social assistance... that's one hell of a party life...

But not everyone pays the kids. On average, I would say out of every 10 cars, 1 would give change, and it might be a quarter.
So, I think not.

I don't mind giving them some change if my window's are dirty or in the winter when I'm to lazy to do it myself. At least they are doing something to earn the change instead of just standing there with a cup in their hand expecting hand outs like some of the bums you see.
