i just hear on the radio that ron maclean is leaving cbc? can any one confirm this? hockey night in canada will never be the same :cry:

This was the same reaction when the no name Rom McClean replaced the legend Dave Hodge. Ron will be missed because he does the straight man act with Cherry so well. Ron was/is veery good at what he does but, no one is irreplaceable.

its true, city tv said there was a salary dispute with cbc and mclean for 600,000

Yeah, he was pretty cool... It's gonna be different for the younger guys like me who don't remember anyone else doing HNIC except him.. But if he's not happy with like 4 hundred grand a year (for getting paid to watch and comment on hockey once a week), then maybe he needs to find his real "passion".
