Besides being able to play burnt games, does chipping a PS2 make it a REGION FREE dvd player as well?

Would i be able to play PAL formatted movies on it?

I know its not recommended to use ur PS2 as a dvd player...chipped or not...but I was wondering
is there such a thing for the standalone dvd player? Can you do something to make it region free?

There are some brands of DVD players that you can pick up that actually come region free. Needless to say, they're probably brands we've never heard of but if it's region free and serves it's purpose then why not?

funny thing is its usually the 40 dollar ones they sell at like walmart and ****, i cant rmember the name
oh my ps2 is modded and the DVD p;ayer is f*cked sometimes it doesnt even play eegular movies, yestwerday i wanted to watch the godfahter and it took me 15 minutes to get it going
