don't really know about either (or plasmas) but we have owned several Panasonic products and never had a problem (including projection tvs, tube tvs, etc)

If Pana is high def and samsung isn't go for the panasonic. I own a Panasonic right now and it is awesome. I couldn't be happier... but i set up a wall mount samsung high def not long ago and i was impressed with that.
In the end i prefer Pana

i go with the Panasonic TH-42PD60U, as they there stuff last a long time. we have panasonic tv that is 23 1/2 years old, and we never adjusted the color once on it yet, and it work like it is still new.

My plasma has a much nicer picture then my lcd.

I've had Pano tv's and I currently have a 42" Samsung which I love. By the specs, both look comparable. The Samsung has more inputs/ouputs and the Pano is an EDTV.

Maybe find a store that has both on sidplay and compare them for yourself.

Nope. Plasmas are better in darker areas because in bright rooms they tend to get reflections on the screen.

do not get PLASMA.....

get DLP or LCD...

do a little reading...sure plasma has superior pic quality...but i can burn a color spot on ur TV...or colors will eventually fade and you cannot do anything about that b/c the method of color is via gas...

where as DLP and LCD there are options to restore the quality...

just my 2 cents

And LCD can generate dead pixels, so the debate sis similar for both.

I'm gonna get a 23" Samsung LCD for the bedroom and just keep the 27" I have for now in the living room and get a bigger LCD or plasma or whatever later on..
