Do something creative....cook her dinner themed around something she likes...Do something she's always wanted to do, like a hot airballoon ride. Make her a candle lit picnic in side your house, just the two of you. Make her a nice card. A lot of girls wants guys to do something creative, not just run out and buy something nice-thats too easy and takes no imagination.

my ex bought me a diamond ring for our one year, i wouldnt suggest going that far, but maybe take her out for dinner to a nice romantic place, sumwhere she can dress up then to a hotel, and have rose petals on the bed and candles... thats what ive always wanted! hahha

for my one year anniversary i did the following:

first i got into a fight with my girlfriend the day before...
then on the day of the anniversary had booked a hotel, bought like a million candles, and floating candles shaped like a flower.

then went to the room and set it all up. basically used all the normal candles as a run way thru the entire room telling her which way to go and then used some candles on the bed and then shaped it into a heart and then put 3 roses around that and then put the floating flower candles in a tub that was filled with water and the nice scented ones over by the windows and tables etc...

then i called her and told her we are staying out the whole nite and went and had dinner at MC DONALDS (obviously i was still playing the role of being pissed at her etc) she was ready to cry and she basically went inside the car at which point i took her to the hotel.

Then when we got upstairs i told her before she went and opened the room that i forgot to pick up a bag in the trunk and she went down to get it in the car. meanwhile i started to light all the candles up (over 180 candles) and then went outside the room and waited for her to come upstairs.

She was super pissed cuz there was no bag there. then i was like "oh okay **** that then open the door" when she opened the door she had the biggest smile on her face. and she was really happy.

cheesy? yes but guess who got laid that night

My last one year anniversary.
I took my g/f to the CN tower.
And then after we went out to a really good jungle party.
We did other stuff but the CN Tower was the big thing.

Then 2 months later she brought it off.
.

I suck.
