Ok, another no-win 649....
Better luck next time.
Let's face it, we all try our hardest (well, not really the hardest but we work hard) for our money, and sometimes, with all the bills to pay and daily life expenses, there isn't really that much left for entertainment.
Especially when it comes to cars, men's biggest toy. Car, men's 2nd wife.
A simple lottery ticket can buy you temporary hope and you can dream a little on your spare times. I guess that's more optimistic way of seeing it.
I buy lottery tickets, whenever I can remember it that is. I wouldn't dash out and beat the 8:00pm closing time, I buy it whenever I swing by a gas station or a convenient store. The moment you try to match your numbers against the winning combination is a thrill.
I was browsing Spoon's website last night, I drool so much my keyboard was wet as hell. It would be really nice to order a Spoon engine and all, click every item on their website and just ship the damn thing over.
Nice eh?

I'm reading a book right now called the Millionaire Mind. Its based on a survey done on hundreds of the most wealthy people in America, and almost all of them are against any form of gambling. They make the god point that the people you see buying the lottery tickets are not the ones that are wealthy, so obviously it deosn't work.

My buddy just finished reading it, I will be starting it as soon as my night school exam is over.
Everyone hopes for winning the stupid lottery. SURE I'd love to have an extra $5 mil. to live on right now, but the problem is that alot of people don't plan what to do with their money. I hear about people winning 1.5-2 million, and they quit their jobs, go on a HUGE vacation, buy a house, a luxury car...
HEY BUDDY, guess what? You just blew more than half of what you won.
5 years down the road...HELLO..WAKE UP CALL...you have no money, you're now in debt, and you have no JOB!
The odds are COMPLETELY against you. I don't remember them exactly, but we calculated the probability of winning the 6/49 at any given point one time in finite class, and it was incredibly, INCREDIBLY small. I see it like this: Instead of blowing off those $4 a week...lets see:
$4/week x 4.5 weeks a month x 12 months/yr. x 60 years
= about $13000
I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather hold onto that cash and do something productive with it.
Its sad seeing these multitudes of people hoping for that ONE chance, that ONE slim, incomprehensibly small chance of winning the lottery.
Unfortunately, even if someone wins, they usually don't know how to handle the money, and may end up going into HUGE debt as a result of all the things they purchase.
- I admit to having played the lottery several times...but I can honestly count that number of times on the fingers on my hands.

It is all about how you value your money. I agree, every penny worths something, and there are pennies in every dollar, and every million dollar.
I wouldn't agree with the fact that winning lottery is completely against your odds. You can do what some people do, spend it all for a nice 5 year of your life and might as well buy a **** load of cracks and die in extasy. Or you can invest it and roll that money into a bigger pile. You can buy a franchaise and start a StarBucks coffee shop, or you can still have your job.
The fact of the matter is, none of us have won the ticket, and all we do is talking.
Oh ya I still work hard to earn every penny I deserve and work towards my dream, get married, buy a house, have a good income and a good retirement fund.
Life is full of surprises, you never know what a little ticket will do to it.

i see nothing wrong with playing the lottery. for $1 or $2 you are getting a CHANCE of getting the jackpot (no matter how small that chance is, it's still a chance). with that being said, i think it's ridiculous to spend any more than $5 a week on it. as for me, i only play when the jackpot is huge (ie over $20 million).

As long as you don't go overboard with the tickets then there is no harm done. A ticket is less than a can of coke or chocolate bar at the vending machine. You sit and dream about how you will spend the money, wake up the next day and see that life hasn't changed.....but the one time it does then happy days. I see it as cheap entertainment every now and again.
