Nunchuck Skills?

Anyone really got skills with the chucks? I have never been really into them before always been more about the Kali sticks. Now been ripping around with the chucks and trying to learn sum tricks.

chucks are dirty... so hard to use... i was trying them out... wooden ones with metal studs.. they kept swinging back and hitting me.

kali sticks are good man... extendable... pool cue... t-ball bat... metal bar... machete.. practice your kali with different tools and different lengths... it's the only weapon you need.

if you really want chucks.. you can make your own at home depot.. but it's not a weapon you will readily have available...

now a mankiri chain.... i got my makeshift mankiri on a plane last time I went. haha

it's all about stealth and transportability.

Yah ur right If u can whip around the kali sticks well u can do anything.
Baseball bats, extendable batons. Because of that I started with the chucks because alot of the movements are transferable and look really sik.

try training with machetes. instead of striking with the tips you have to slice along with the blade.. different form of impact and different point of impact... good for adding to your skills.

you can do a number of the drills with machetes as well (available at canadian tire for less than $10 each).. the blades get nice and serrated so be careful.

not sure where you train, but get your kali sticks, and partner and go to the park. use different terrain... and keep the drills moving... get on a park bench.. off of it, etc.. all while doing the drill.

you can get plastic tubing and insulation from home depot... use duct tape to put it together and poke holes on the ends with a needle (i can send you pics) for full contact stick fighting.. (just wear face protection)

forget about nunchucks man... expand skills that will not only expand on what you have, but that you may one day find useful.

i don't own a set of real kali sticks either... i use cut broom sticks, cut hockey sticks, a kids bball bat, and two different metal pipes when i'm at home... it's important to get used to different types of weights and balances.

nunchuck skills are as good as tkd is for usefulness.

if you i can't use it in a fight in an elevator, i wouldn't bother learning it.

Tru Kali is where its @. Full contact stick fighting sounds nice just like Dog Brothers.

nunchucks were hard, sometimes you get whacked in the back of the head from practicing, i prefer staff and swords
