Next car?

I really need a bigger car , my hatchback just isnt cutting it, and the wife's 01 4 dr civic is nice but not big enough..

I have narrowed it down to a 02 subaru wrx wagon , what do you guys think of them? I figured turbo 2.0L should be a nice ride.. not to mention AWD..

Thanks

joe

I really like the WRX Wagon. I see one around my area occasionally that is fitted with the OEM body kit, the optional BBS wheels and it's lowered pretty good. I'm sure you can find an 02 for under $30k too.

The only issue i have with Subarus is the tranny my buddy has had to replace synchros in his 2000 already and they seem to be on the way out again. This could be related to his driving but i've heard of other tranny problems too. Ohterwise they are great cars!

I always hear great things about subarus.........my uncle has a forester, and he loves it, the only complaint he has is that he thinks the parts at the dealer cost more than other cars (his other car is an accord) because they are AWD or something....

I have one, and the tranny problems is very true. You just cant abuse it else it will break. I have mine, for 60K now and the synchros in first have always been a problem. I have heard of others breaking gears and such.

The general consensus is that the tranny is good for stock power and moderate launches. But its definitely a weak point in the car. Its not as smooth and the honda trannys.
