Need Excel help...
Here is the situation....
I need to cross reference something in excel.
I have a spreadsheet where there product numbers with no description and then one with descriptions. The product numbers correspond with the descriptions and both have the same product numbers. I need the one without the descriptions to go onto the sheet with descriptions to find the corresponding product number and get that description to put in the description on the sheet without a description......
Any ideas?

ughh the **** i do for ya steveo ... ok here it goes .. coles notes style
open the file with the descriptions
copy the file with no descriptions to a second WORKSHEET ..
put the descriptions to the right of the prod#
highlight both columns PROD#/DESCRIP
INSERT > NAME >DEFINE .... Then give the table a name
now goto the WORKSHEET with no descriptions ...
goto the right of the 1st prod # ... enter a VLOOKUP formula
1st line .. click the PART# to the left
2nd line .. enter the table name
3rd line = 2
4th line = FALSE
if this works u should see a result showing the description .. if its there then just auto fill and ur done ...
open the file with the descriptions

My excel book is at home
haha, I was doing it right the whole time, only thing is that I wasn't extending it down enough and it was showing up n/a! muhahahaha
