My Engrish correct or incorrect!?
I always do this....
I sent out an email to the CFO, COO, CEO and General manager about 10mins ago forwarding an important email to them, this was it:
They spelt "Insert my companies name here" wrong.
I got an email back from the CFO saying:
"I hope that "spelt" was an attempt at humour".
I replied back with a kick *** remark that cannot be repeated.
Is my grammar incorrect?

you guys are nerds. When I said "insert companies name here", I meant insert MY company name here, I dont want to say who I work for.
So spelt and spelled are both correct.
but how?
why am i always told i'm wrong?
i always say spelt

Ummmm I've never heard that it's 100% wrong bottom line to use spelt vs. spelled... According to my uni comm class spelt is a word, it's just not commonly used... it's from the British English... while spelled is american... spelled is more commonly used but that doesn't mean that it makes spelt stop being a word
there are MANY words in the English language that are written the same but depending on what context you use them in mean TOTALLY different things

I believe I also use the word "spelt". In fact, I don't ever recall been corrected for writing "spelt" as oppose to "spelled". I even thought "spelled" is a wrong word.
