Massive Accident QEW Niagara

So, as I was about to leave work, I hear this massive banging sound and metal n ****. I then hear that someone rolled their SUV on the garden city skyway and were thrown from the vehicle. QEW Niagara closed and there is a MASSIVE back up along the QEW.

Wow, look

I think they said it was a dark-coloured van, eleven people inside, and I think (not 100% sure on this) they said it was U.S. plates on the van. I'm not sure if there were fatalities, but the 11:00pm news said there were people in critical condition in various hospitals in the region. Don't know what the status is currently.

wow, scared the **** out of me for a second, friends of my parents were leaving to go to nova scotia and were driving, they have a large van that holds about 11 people since they have a ton of kids and its dark grey...if it's US plates then it wouldnt of been them.

Just got this from the CTV website

At about the same time Thursday afternoon OPP officers responded to a very serious crash on the westbound QEW at Glendale, near Niagara-on-the-Lake.

One person died and another nine were injured after a van rolled over. Many of the injuries were sustained when people were thrown from the van as it rolled.

Two people were taken by air ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital and the others were taken to hospitals in the Niagara region for treatment.

The westbound lanes of the QEW at Glendale were closed while OPP accident reconstruction specialists worked at the scene.

Ya, it snarled up traffic pretty badly, and there were critical injuries. It must be a relief for you knowing that it wasn't friends involved...still, feel bad tonight for the families related to the injured.

It wasn't a van. It was a M-B SUV. There is a pic on the front page of the Hamilton Spectator that cklearly shows the back of the truck and the NY plate. They are designed to hold 5-7 people and they cram 11 into it. Dummies. They should be thankful only one person died.

Apparently, QEW was closed at Niagara St. which they then brought back to Lake St. and then the 406. Traffic was backed up all the way to Bartlett in Grimsby. It was literally STOPPED. I think they said 6-7 hours of backup.

INSANITY !
