Learning Bittorrent
Does anyone here know how to use bittorrent programs? If so, can you help me? I'd even pay you if you can get it working on my computer.
It's driving me nuts. I've read a lot on it but still I can't get it to work. I found some really good service manuals but I can't get them to download (fast enough).
The file is only 50 mbs but it's taking 5+ hours to download the thing!
I've read the zeropaid and portforward websites so that indicates I've read some good info.

Btw, I upgraded my ISP speed. I use rogers ISP and a Linksys router.

It's probably the people(s) who your downloading it off of have a slow connection or its bogged down....
part of the problem with illegal downloading of content, you can't really complain to anybody and have anything done....just going to have to deal with it...

ya depending on the number of seeds it can take a real long time or can be really fast..
apparently there's some port that you can open that makes the downloads like 10x fast, but it also leaves you vulnerable to hacking/bots, stuff like that... so i decided not to open it... i don't mind waiting one day for a movie instead of having it in an hour and then having my comp take a **** and not be able to use it to watch the damn thing...
but make sure u watch for a high number of seeds..
what sites do you use to search for torrents? and what client do you have?

Houston, I think we have a problem. Apparently, there's 0 seeders.
It might be # of seeds in this case.
I have Bittorrent (original) and Yet ABC. I am currently trying to download a pdf manual using Yet ABC. I wanted to use it for albums, too, though.
I'll probably use torrentspy (if I ever get it to work). That seems to be one of the main ones.
I'm not a fan of Pearl Jam and that info isn't helping.

yea i've been downloading the pearl jam discography for the past 4 days, its at 85.5% now...woohoo

no wonder it's taking forever to download...
all your reading and you didn't figure out what the seed / leech thing was?
so there's no complete files out there uploading... u ain't gonna get **** man... u'll get as far as eveyrone else out there that has the partial file

that's a big decision in which files u get... if u don't find one with good seeds just go to another site... or forget it all together...

The rate my D/Ls are currently going, I'd say one scene in the porno would take a month and that's considering the overlong "f***ing sessions."

i hear ya, they're hard to find... took me like 3 yrs to find my civic helms manual scans, it was a HUGE file... and then i ended up selling my civic... i'm not sure if i wanna drop $50 US on the '06 TSX one... maybe in a year or so... i wish i could d/l one... good luck
