Leafs Trades

-Leafs traded D Ken Klee to New Jersey for a prospect F Aleksander Suglobov

-D Luke Richardson from Columbus to Toronto for 5th Round Pick.

-For some unkown reason the Bruins felt the need to take Mariusz Czerkawski off of our hands

Other big deals so far is Jose Theodore to Colorado for David Aebischer. And Dwayne Roloson to Edmonton for a pick.

I can't believe the Leaf's would trade Klee, he is pretty good for the role he plays.

Man the leafs have lots of players to trade.

They have two good goalies coming from the minors, so Belfore has to go. And as much as I love Sundin, he is too old. He has to go too.

Ofcourse we can't forget about Belak and Berg, the dynamic duo of nothingness. Domi is old too and said that he will retire before getting trade. But Domi is still the man. O'Neal isnt doing anything this year, neither is Stayjan(spelling?). Lindros is gone for the season, and possibly ended his career. Antropov definately needs to go too.

Not to mention that Pat Quinn should definately be fired, and so should the new GM if he can't get anything going. We need youth, and all he's done is screw us with the old guys.

So we shall see....

IMO it all starts with youth development, not signing has beens...
blow up the team, decide on what kind of hockey you want to play and build the team accordingly

no direction, no improvement

same old band aid solutions over and over

I agree 100%. He was AMAZING at the olympics, but the guy cant do everything himself. As for Lindros, you cant expect a game-breaker cuz, by NHL standards, we got more then what we paid for.

Put it this was, we gave Lindros $1.55 for a year and we gave Domi $1.25/yr. Domi has played 26 games more, has 8 points less then Lindros, is -4 compared to Lindros' -3, and the list goes on. Domi is useless and is someone we need to get rid of but lindros was a great pickup since we got him for nothing in NHL standards.

I know they have different styles, but Domi isnt a fighter anymore, hes nothing and is just a waste of a roster spot if you ask me. We should resign Lindros if he plays next year and get rid of Domi fast. if you aint scoring/contributing offensively or defensively in the new NHL, you are not cut out for the new nhl. thats my $0.02

Like I said earlier, Domi will NOT leave Toronto. He WILL retire here. He stated that himself. So either way, he is gone.

For all of you that support Sundin, yes he was good at the Olympics, but what';s the point? He has a maximum of one year left in the league and he is gone. Like someone saif above, we need youth. We need to restructure our whole team. And hopefully, whoever takes over for Pat Quinn realizes that.

And as an FYI, Bertuzzi is screwed in his own right since Moore (the guy he sucker punched) is sueing him, and for some big cash too. The whole family is involved now. Poor guy, I honestly believe that he payed his dues. Yes that was a cheap shot, but these people are milking him for every penny.

Sundin's contract is up next year anyways, he wont be going anywhere, i'm just praying.

I have a feeling McCabe will be gone because he is asking too much and he isn't worth it. He is having a really good year, thats it....

We will see what happens at 3pm today

Mats Sundin: Gotta keep him, he's the teams leader. If they get rid of Sundin theres no one readily able to step into the leadership role, and its bad situation to trade for a captain. Trading for a captain can throw your competativeness as a team 5 years back as you move to a "building" stage. What they do need to do is trade for someone to play with him. AGAIN toronto has too many centers, trade off some of guys for some A+ wingers. I'd like to see the Sedin brothers with Sundin.

Brian McCabe: Soooo over rated. McCabe is having a great scoring season, but as a defenceman, he's no better than Aki Berg. McCabe is only +1 right now, and he has 17 Goals and 38 assists. which means that atleast 54 goals scored on Toronto while he's been on the ice. McCabe has played 52 games this season so far, so you do the math, when McCabe plays, the other teams is guaranteed to score. My conclusion, trade him, he's more concerned about scoring than being a good defencemen. Well get so much value for him right now. Trade him for a good winger.

Jeff O'Neill: Over rated bum. This guy was supposed to be the great winger to play with Sundin. O'Neill: 57 games played, 15 goals, 15 assist, -19. Enough said.

Eric Lindros: This guy is injury prone, who would have thought this time it would have been the wrist. The good news is that he didn't have any concussions this year. If we can get him between 1-1.5 million for next season, keep him. He has the strength and presence when on ice that Toronto needs.

Jason Allison: What this guy lacks in speed, he makes up for stick handling and hard work. Before he came to Toronto, I thought of Allison as a softy, but gets down to it and isn't afraid to drop the gloves even if it means getting his *** kicked. Good character and contributes to on ice moral and team leadership.

Tie Domi: Domi has amazing line speed, too bad he can't turn, shoot, pass or score. My opinion: More of a salesman than a hockey player these days. Time to use that personality off the ice to make your money.

Ed Belfour: I love ya Eddie and I thought you were amazing for getting 10 shut outs the last season. But this year, the playing has been off and on, and I keep waiting for you to show the power of the Eagle. Please don't let it be, but maybe like yourself, I need to come to terms with the fact the Eagle has landed. We have amazing goalies in the system, time to let Eddie go.

McCabe has a low plus minus because he's on the ice for half the game, every game. He's picking up most of his goals on the power play so I don't see why you'd have the impression that he's trying too hard to score at the expense of his defensive play.

As for Aki Berg, whether it's a Leafs game or Canada vs. Finland, just about every time he touches the puck, there's a good chance Pat Quinn's team is going to get scored on. They should trade him and Belak for a 2-4 and a bag of pucks, if anyone is stupid enough to take that deal. Maybe if they're more realistic and drop it to a 12 of Lakeport Honey, they might get some interest, but probably not.

Belfour, O'Neill, and Lindros are done, but everyone knows it so we won't be able to trade them. Sundin looks like he's done too, but he'll probably stick it out in Toronto. He could have a comeback with a decent line, but Toronto has a bunch of dead end players who aren't scoring and who have almost no trade value.

McCabe plays like 20 minutes a game, so about a 1/3 of the game.

His defensive play is crap, he is easily beat and often found in the wrong spot.
