laptop

I just got a lap top and i'm worried about the battery on it... does it stop charging once its full and you use it on AC power but leave it in? Becuase if it is always charging is that not bad for it?

i leave em plugged in all day at work and no one yells at me so im assuming its cool
(they yell at me for turning off the computer with the power button instead of going to start > shutdown, so thats how hardcore they are about their equipment)

modern batteries have circuits in them that prevent over charging....

infact to extend the battery life of li-ion batteries, its better when your near a plug, have it plugged in, you get so many cycles, if you don't use them your battery will last longer...

its not like the old NiCad batteries that had that battery life garbage

Im not 100% sure on this but I think you have to let it die out the first time then charge and after that you are ok.

Ive heard on cell phones its a myth. Didnt no for laptops thats why i said I wasnt to sure.

For my ipod it actually did make a difference, I didnt let it die out the first time and the first few times id charge it from half and now my battery life is actually slimmed. I timed it with my friends ipod who did it. We left it running came back a few hours later his ran for a little longer (only like 20 mins)... lol we made sure our voulumes were the same and all that.
