internet explorer taking forever to load

internet explorer taking forever to load
does any1 know why whenever i load ie it takes forever to connect to the net... it takes about 5 mins to load the first page then after that its like normal.. i have win xp and i installed the new service pack

When was it started to act like this?
After the XP SP1 or before...
If you are using ADSL, make sure you have the latest version of connection manager! The built-in PPPoE that comes with XP doesn't work too well with ADSL sometimes.
