um...I for just a cut I think it's $40, but I always get highlights and straightened so it's about $150 or so by the time I'm done. Sometimes $200 or so if I get it all coloured.

You guys are so lucky!

Thats why I get my hair done by my neighbor/friend who is a hairdresser in a very nice salon. For something that would cost me around $200 he does it for $80 which is a cut color and blowdry. I usually give him a $20 dollar tip cause he does it on his own time & whenever I need it.

If only I had a friend like that!!! I have a couple friends that I let do my hair once, it turned out alright....but not as good as my stylist. I'm not complaining about the price, I only have to get it all coloured every 4 months or so (cause I don't do it really light) But I love going to my salon, I do everything all at the same spot....tanning, manicures, pedicures, messages, facials.....I'm there almost everyday. I would feel like I was betraying them if I went somewhere else.

If it is a private shop then maybe this is true, however if the hairdresser works for a shop then they make very little money. Most of thier money is made on tips just like people who serve at food establishments, bars etc.

When I get my hair cut I give $5.00 dollars every time, since the hair cut is only $11.00. It's a good friend that cuts my hair so that's why I give so much.

I cut my own hair.....my friend helps me when/if I colour it. I refuse to pay soooo much for somebody to cut my hair......I used to be a hairdresser(worked down on Broadview...years and years ago)

But when I take my son to get his hair cut, I usually tip depending on the hairdresser's attitude....if it's good, $5, if they suck, nothing. If their attitude is inbetween, well, the tip will vary. I mean, if you are in the "service industry" you KNOW that your attitude directly affects your tip, so be nice and I'll be nice.

de berardinis.........if anyone goes there, tell me, or make an appointment with shiela...

for mens a hair cut is close to 36....but i can get it for 15-20...

and ladies cuts are usually 75, i'm positive i can get u a discount....and if u guys use aveda ,joico, ice products, i can get u a discount.....

u don;t have to go through m , go straight to the salon, ask for shiela,

adn to answer the question, i get my hair cut avery 2 weeks, and i tip nobody since the money stays in the family, and i try to salvage and take as much products as possible...so my hair cuts acutally cost the salon, instead of making money for it....lol and beautiful ladies get free cuts.....lol.....jks
