How low can you LEGALLY put your car?
#2
the police officers say that your wheels can not be tucked up inside your fender walls because of rubbing. even if there is no rubbing you can still get a ticket or have your car towed.
also your wheels can not come out pass your fenders by 1 inch because of rocks or debrey flying off them as you drive, but do not quote me on this one only on the lowering one. but i had my wheels tucked a bit and never got bugged by any police, but if i was in york region most likely i would have been given a ticket. just be smart about and also remember whats under your car because if you are to low you can easly get stuck on a speed bump or a driveway or a small incline.
hope this helps

careful how low u go.
im just talking from experience, there was this cop in scarbs that pulled me over saying my car is too low. i've seen cars lower than mine at the time. im about 2" dropped with 15's it wasnt tucked in either. anyways his measuring tool was my drivers license. according to this one, suspensioon has to travel the width of the license, about 3" maybe. took my plates and had to tow the car for 2 blocks, yeah it was like 2 minutes away from my house.
anyways had a court date lastr feb 4 and the charge was dropped.

yah from a practical point of view/ performance/ non abuse... 2 finger gap 1 finger at the most... IMO tucking your tires is for air ride/ show cars/ Modified fenders "ONLY" (especially with the civics suspension design) or Ricers that bounce all over the place beating the living hell out of their cars. After all its your car and your licence your abusing so do as you wish
As for laws didnt know such a law existed... would make sence to if there is

The only laws that dictate height of a ride are ones relating to headlights. Your headlights have to be a certain height off the ground, and shine at a certain distance at a certain angle. That's a DOT/MTO thing, not an HTA thing.
Also, your car must have a 2-3 inches of bounce, otherwise it's not considered road-worthy.
The 2 finger rule is pure bull****, completely arbitrary, and will be usually thrown out of court if challenged. Can you fit 2 fingers between the rubber and the fender in a Buick Roadmaster, or an Insight, or even an RX8? Nope.

good points..
And i know in BC the lowering thing is all about the headlights, and they are super picky about it.... so im sure the same reasoning is used here

I had read once that the center of your headlight needed to be at least 24" from the ground... think that may have been in SCC though so it's american. MY EG's definetely lower than that. My car tucks just a little in the back and is pretty close at the front... but no rubbing!
WHOLE HAND?!? He's nuts! you can't do that on a lot of stock cars...

I've been thorougly convinced recently after getting a charge of mine thrown out of court that police officers are no more educated about the law than the average citizen is.
Fight everything. Odds are you know better than they do.
