Pines Motel. QEW Niagara to Centennial Pkwy turn right, on the same side as golden griddle. If you go under the bridge, you've gone too far.

^took the words straight outta my mouth.

You''ll see a holiday inn on you right when you are on the off ramp. Then turn right at the light and then the motel is right after the light, on your right hand side.

ya, the pines motel is what i was going to say. I've stayed there before and its decent, and pretty cheap....not to mention right off the QEW.
Hit up the restaurant right in front of the motel, they have good breakfast. Or go across the street to the Golden Griddle....mmm....breakfast.

This is probably true. I work out at the Hamilton Y sometimes. It is pretty disgusting. I wouldn't want to crash there. It is very close to the Hamilton downtown core. It's in the Beasley neighbourhood. If you have been reading the Hamilton Spectator, it's listed as the poorest neigbourhood in Canada. In honesty, you'll be surrounded by bums who drink Listerine.

This is also at the opposite end of Hamilton, from Stoney Creek. Parking - you aren't going to find any. The Hamilton Y is not what you might expect from having been to other YMCA establishments.

Don't go to the Rose Motel either. They charge, hourly rates; enough said.

Theres a good part of hamilton?

Just kidding. I'd have to say the nicer part of hamilton is on the mountain away from downtown. Although there are some very nice parts of town, downtown more on the south side on the west end closer to hess village, but more south of hess village.
But when your coming over the skyway bridge on the QEW seeing all of the steel factories, and smelling the lovely smell of rotten a$$ its not very welcoming or very attractive for people from other cities...no wonder most people think hamilton sucks...when all you see of it is the hamilton harbour (yuck) passing by on the QEW.

Yeah^^If you take the 403 into town you get a better view of the good side of the bay, Cootes Paridise and Princess Point.
The further east you go the nicer Hamilton is. Until you get to Eastgate, then it's nice again.

I would say the nicest part of Hamilton is on the west mountain.
Or Ancaster.

And down the escarpment.
East side is gross.
West side is slightly less gross.

Stoney Creek ain't bad, some nice area's there. But the whole place (Hamilton) kinda creeps me out. Down town is nasty, I am terrified to even drive through there.
I tell people all the time. I would rather walk through downtown Toronto at night by myself then walk through down town hamilton. at jackson square. Its so bad. ..

Thank god for good ol Grimsby

downtown isn't that bad. Its great to cruise through in the summer and see all the crazy **** going on. You will usually see a fight, a whole bunch of drunk people, a few crazy people screaming at light posts and maybe someone bending over in a tree hanging a douce.
But seriously its not that bad, King and James (jackson square) is kind of bad b/c thats where a lot of people hang out. But i remember going downtown when i was like 14 years old with a few friends going skateboarding and i'm still alive. HAHA Beasley Park...seen some wild **** there before.
