This is more or less a girls article so I am warning all you men now. If you don't want to know what a girl's point of view is don't read any further.
So I am sitting behind this cute little Eclipse. Nothing special but my thought was, this guy obviously bought a sports car to look somewhat cool I wonder if he is cute. As all girls know cute guys drive nice cars. I know what you are thinking, well isn't the theory that guys that drive sports cars have small penises'? I will address that later. As I am sitting behind this guy I notice that instead of an antennae he has a wire hanger. That was as in instant turn-off and I found myself having no desire to find out if he was cute or not. So than I thought and analyzed why I suddenly lost interest in him as fast as I had gained interest. So here is my theory. Girls care about a few things right from the get go, looks, career, and car. Girls in general will go out with unattractive men based on personality but from the onset of interest those are the three items on a checklist. Although those three items are very generalized it is basis enough to continue this article into a deeper depth and see if you want to continue reading.
Looks, it is true looks are not too important for most girls. I mean we all dream of having a man that is Adonis, however as girls mature they soon discover that really hot looking guys are demanding, too into themselves, and could care less about you. There are exceptions to this rule, like Josh, Charlie's best friend and groomsman in our wedding, whoa is all I have to say about him. I am certainly generalizing here. However, a perfect guy is in the range of decent looking-cute and won't make you gag in the morning when you roll over to look at him in the daylight hours.
Career, most chicks want a guy that at least has hope of making some sort of money. It is every girls worst nightmare to fall in love with someone whom you have to support. Although most chicks will do it, chances are we are not happy about it. The guy in the relationship is supposed to be your savior, your knight in shining armor, someone to lean on, yet he is asking for a $1.00 to buy a Coke. How romantic is that? When girls see a guy they imagine their future with him. Don't cringe boys, yes your girl has imagined walking down the aisle with you, putting your face and her hair on your kids, practicing writing her name with yours, and imaging your little humble abode together. It's a girl thing we are molded to do at birth. Although this is the new millennium girls see their men as the main bread winners. Someone to take care of them. That whole Women's Lib thing was only a ploy to get you all to stop asking for sex every night. We still want our doors opened for us, we still want you to call us every day, we want flowers, we want cards, we want all of it! I have often heard men say "I don't open doors for girls anymore because they get mad at me and tell me that they can do it themselves" Those girls are just lesbians in the making. Please open our doors for us! We are the true ladies of the millennium that want to have your children, do your laundry and care for you. But we also want to be supported financially. We do not want to support you.
The car, I know this may sound really shallow, but the car is important. It seems to wrap up the aforementioned checklist items and I will explain why. When a guy cares about the way he looks he cares about everything in his life. His house, his clothes, his car, his career and his girl. Most decent looking-cute guys drive nice cars. They obviously have a good enough career to afford a nice car and won't be asking you for that $1.00 to buy a Coke. You know from the onset of looking at a guys car if he is going to care about you and your marital house or if he is going to be a slob that you are going to have to pick up pooped streaked undies off the floor. Yes boys we break it down that easy and it takes a matter of seconds to decipher which kind of guy you are going to be. So who says first impressions don't matter? They do! So listen to me, if you want to impress a girl clean your car before you go out with her, brush your teeth, take a shower, and for gawds sakes leave the white socks and sandals at home for the dog to chew on. Here is another tip, please make sure that her side of the front window is clean so she can look out of the window without having to look between the streak lines to see out.
So to continue on to the small ***** theory. The only people that believe that theory are the ones that can't afford a nice car. I mean really, who doesn't want a nice car? That theory is just ridiculous and I have found it to be very untrue in lab tested experiments
Exception to the rule: yes there are several as I said before I am generalizing. There have been cases and actually I have been talking to my girlfriends about this a lot where the personality far out does anything and he is a dream guy. A guy with an outstanding sense of humor can get any chick no matter what his looks, financial situation, or car is. But a girl will still break down how his personal hygiene is and if he is a gentleman. Personal hygiene for girls so extremely important. I mean look at all the smelly stuff we have. Body sprays, perfumes, smelly shampoo, scented tampons, body soaps, body washes, oils, douches, etc. If he stinks he's out! Very rarely a girl will continue interest with a guy if he stinks and just encourage him to use that deodorant or mints but that is very rare. He also must be gentleman to the fullest extent no matter what. If he is ugly with a great sense of humor but treats you like crap, that's a no go for sure!
So now for a little Biology lesson. Right down to the most basic animal females will only mate with the strongest of the group. Why? To ensure that they give birth to strong babies because only the strong survive. It is every animals intention for their breed to go on and to make sure that happens they pick the strongest males to breed with. Although this may seem very simplified it is true of humans as well. After all we are animals. Women pick men with a good education, meaning they are smart, a good job, able to provide, good looks, esthetically pleasing to society because the good-looking people have proven to get better jobs etc so this ensures the children will be successful. Survival of the fittest. It is that simple and when a girl looks at a guy she does a little mental checklist.

1sLO, that's a good article...actually, in the winter...my Saturn is dirty and nasty and I don't care. But in the summer, my Civic is pure gleamin'. My Samurai is gonna be gleamin' too once I do it up, even though it's an offroader. Still...I can't justify cleaning a winter car. As long as it starts in any weather...it's a good car. I don't really see women checking me out no matter what car I'm in. I don't think women can tell the difference between a Festiva or a Jetta...or a Civic ... they note the colour and number of doors (sometimes). Other than that... 
True though, you can't have a dirty car in the summer.
