hmmm..didn't they take away photo radar because it was a violation of peoples rights?? this sounds like the same thing, tho adding you in the pic is even worse..
i've seen them down at the international centre taping pics of the "ride-for-site" meet prior to leaving (looking for bikers), but never seen them ask someone to "smile and look pretty"..

might be time to follow the ways of the PDR, and get all the clubs together and hire on a full time lawyer..
we're being targeted here regardless of whether we're up to no good or not..
we're being "profiled" on what we drive..(hmmm..i wonder if if our color makes them look at us ant differently while we sit in our cars..hmmmmm..i thought profiling was illegal, or at least unconstitutional)
so what, if ya drive a civic you're automatically a racer..
if ya drive a pick-up you're automatically toting around bodies in the back and carrying a rifle in the back window??
if ya ride, you're automatically a clubber and selling and pimping??

wonder what that makes you if you drive a cruiser??
are all cops considered rapists, murderers or drug dealers just because one has been convicted of such an offense??

so if i refuse to stop one day, can i use the excuse that the cop fit the profile of a "bad-cop" and i feared for my safety???

I read the article some interesting stuff. Not sure where that one stands legally....but did you notice one guy's signature file

Here I'll post it

Wouldn't you say his person is just a shade confused....A honda logo on the hood of a fiero.....not to mention the neuspeed logo to boot.
Don't remember neuspeed making fiero parts....maybe he is confusing the fiero with the civic sedan in Japan...
The killer is they put the fast and the furious phrase with a pontiac badge...:working:

hmmmm...thinking about it i just might let them take my picture...

of course that's the last time i better hear from them...

at that point they now have me in their little "potential" file...
(which of course i'll fight, probably thru the media..or thru the courts if need be)
if i find myself getting pulled over without due cause (ie. i've now done something wrong, like speeding or driving like that unbecoming a responsible driver..) it becomes harrassment and a steady stream of complaints WILL be filed...

hmmmm..while we're at it i think we should bring ALL profiling back..what the hell, let's go for it..

k..all asians over in that line up..
all blacks over in that one..
whitey, you know where you can go..
indians, amass over there if you please..
hmmmm..gays and lesbians, please stand side by side if you will..

i know it all sounds a little drastic, but what the cops and the media are doing right now is creating "PREJUDICE!!!", and i thought the whole thing about MY country was to get ridda that shyt...
no tags on anyone unless it was a prison number...

peace all...Marty

i think we shud fight back, but not jus as 1 person....but we shud get all thr clubs together like some1 else shud...im tired of being targeted and pulled over for BULLSHIT all the time cop is near, and they see a domestic speeding they dont pull him over as much as they do for hondas! its cuz they think we are young punks who cant afford better cars so we're up to no good! and that pic thing, im gonna check with my uncle he is a cop (but not a rice cop) to see if its legal.

Last time I checked........It was a PRIVATE parking lot......not a PUBLIC street.....refuse the pic.....if they continue to insist....reuse the pic again......if they don't back down.....get his name, badge # and the station he belongs to AND FILE A COMPLAINT. You can refuse to be searched, it's your right to do so. Plain and simple.....they want to play games....have them play it YOUR way. Refuse.....if they arrest you......call you're layer. (cops don't like paper work as much as a a 10 year-old likes home work). If they do arrest you for failier to cooperate....they have alot of paper work to do.....

They have to have proof that you are involved in something illeagal.....(ie....catch you in the act) without this they have nothing.....yeah sure, they can give you a hard time....but that is what court is for. Remember......they have to PROVE you are guilty of an offence AND charge you BEFORE THEY CAN TOW YOUR CAR.

Didn't anyone read the pamphlat that the OPP were giving out at DK? It's states the above.

Any cops on the board are welcome to clear this up.

As for me.....go ahead and look.....I have nothing to worry about.
Hell.....most of the cops I know are cool.
I'll see if I can find a pic that I have. hehehehe (I'll post it later.) :working:

you got that pamphlet handy still??
i'd like to get a look at it if i might..
i'll be at the mini-meet today..

all the cops i know are pretty cool too..

the part that's beginning to bother me is they seem to be targeting the masses (innocents) to slow up the few (the not-so innocent)..
and to literally and purposefully cause prejudice towards one brand of car (which is def. what they're trying to do..) is branding us with a stereotype that i'm not overly happy being labeled with..(what they've been doing thru the media..)

i bought a car that i could afford, one that looked pretty cool and got exceptional gas-mileage..had an excellent track (no, not race track) record for quality and dependability..and gave me a confidence when i drove it that made me happy to drive it..
but now i'm a speed-demon who does nothing but put the public's life at risk as i do 60km driving up the street..

heh heh..i'm stock, with the exception of my (legal) tint, but i'm feeling like a criminal all of a sudden..
just like i did when i was riding around my goldwing..(man, ya wanna talk about getting pulled over...shyt...3 cruisers at a time sometimes )

k....rant's over
i'd really like to see that pamphlet tho if anyone still has it..

You know what.. I totally understand the cop's point of view.

I drive a souped up Civic myself, but I must say, there a LOT of morons out there. I'm not saying I agree with the pre-judging mentality the police use, but hey... they stop suspecious people all the time. The fact of the matter is, people race. And often have illegal parts in their cars.

I don't mean to a kill joy... everyone does the odd drag racing on the streets. I'm not crying about that. I don't think the cops are either. But when people are so stupid and immature to do 200km/h on streets, the police must take action.

They don't know who's doing it, and who's not... but what they DO know is that people with souped up imports contribute to street racing accidents by large numbers (and of those, Hondas especially). So they have to pull us over and do searches, or whatever they need to do. It's nothing personal (unless you get lippy)--they are just doing their jobs.

Think of it as a RIDE program. They assume people drink and drive, so on a Saturday nights they pull everyone over onto the side of the road to check.

On another note, I see people driving around with some ridicious decals that BEG them to get pulled over... like "Whatever Racing Team"... "Jow Blow Perforamnce"... "Mega Speed"... etc etc... why don't you just make a huge decal that says "I LOVE RACING"???

If you got pulled over, and you are wearing a marijuana T-shirt, there is a good chance the cop might want to search your car for some drugs. If you have a racing sticker... I think he might want to see what's under your hood.

Of course, then there are people who like to drive around in their 2nd gear, making loud noises with their intakes & exhausts.... well... I mean, it's cool to you, but annoying to everyone else, including the cops. Day in and day out, they put up with this childish crap... so if they end up NOT liking your Civic, you just pushed him over the limit yourself.

Instead of complaining how you get pulled over all the time, how about diverting the attention from yourself? Try thinking this way. If you were a cop... how easy would it be for you to catch speeders? If you were hiding in a parking lot.... well it's pretty easy. Aim your radar gun to anything that has:

(a) Baby blue headlamps
(b) LED Washers
(c) Looks ridiciously slammed
(d) Huge *** white/chrome rims
(e) Altezzas
(f) Makes a lot of noise
(g) Baby blue or bright yellow paint job

Chances are, you'll catch a shitload of speeders that night.

Cops were NOT born into hating imports. We made them hate us. Maybe import scene's image has to change.... and to start, we all have to treat public roads respectfully, not as a private race course.

sorry but, which one's the idiot??

if you're meaning the "suspected cop", a lot of what he says makes sense....to me anyway....
if ya mess up, then ya, you should accept the consequences..

tho if yer just the type that's all show (on the street), that's where i think things are going overboard and many of the others posting there are making tons of sense..
LOOKING like a certain "type" doesn't necessarily mean you ARE that type..

no idiots, just different opinions..
one of the things i've always loved about forums..
many just have to learn to agree to disagree..

Hey, I never said everyone with souped up Civics are speeders.

But when cops are finding a lot of these "turbocharged chainsaw Civics" doing buck eighty... WTF are they supposed to do? Think about it. They don't know which guy has a B18 with turbo and NOS. And although some of these guys might only race at the track, VAST MAJORITY of them go like nut cases on the streets. Don't believe me? Check out Hwy7. They had to impliment helicopters to enforce that road. Why would they? It costs a lot of money, and they sure could be doing it else where as well. But bottom line is, they are doing their job. They are protecting YOU from getting rammed head on by some kid in his car cause he lost control racing someone.

When there is a pattern, you take precaution. Then you take action.

Cops always have been pulling over SUSPECIOUS people. Whether it looks like you stole a car, broke into a house, or a street racer, they are going to be on your case.

If reports come in that a man with a red coat is abucting little boys, and YOU happen to wear a red coat, you will be stopped for questioning. If reports keep coming in over and over about Civics w/exhausts doing hyper speeds on the road--guess what?! We get pulled over. WTF did you expect?

no one was pointing fingers 01..
i didn't say you were right or wrong..
i agree with all that you said in your original post, tho i feel that some of the actions being taken are somewhat extreme..

i think tho, that your last example is a little extreme..
a *********/murder/theft suspect is a clear and present "immediate" danger and if you happen to be in the area at the time, then ya, even i wouldn't mind being "checked out" over that kinda thing..the ramifications of NOT investigating me are clearly more "life-altering, potentially life-threatening" than me sitting in a parking lot in my car talking with a bunch of buds..

WTF did you expect?

hmmm..when i first got the car??
a chance to own my first ride that came with less than 15,0000km on it.. (it came with 24km..man that was sweet..)

my expectations sure have changed over the 2 months that i've had it tho..
but i guess "if i do something wrong, then i expect to pay the fiddler monetarily in accordance with the fine levied against such crime committed"..
when those expectations are met, i'll be a lot happier than i am right now..
