Got the job!

Well for almost a month now I've been waiting for Research in Motion to make a decision on who they would hire for this I.T. position. Finally today I got a call saying I got the job and my offer was being mailed by expresspost as we speak! I wanted this job so badly and I feel so relieved because I really don't like my current job and can't wait to leave. My future with RIM would be so much brighter! Anyways, just felt like sharing that cuz I'm freakin' out over here.

IT Helpdesk Operator - I have this position for 6 months. After that they will bump me up to something more challenging like server administration or something. What excites me is it's way more money then I currently make and I actually have a lot of room for advancement. My current job is garbage.

congrats man!!!

well they offered me a position at RIM as RF tech but I turned it down because of the shifts... they have continental 12 hr shifts and its crazy... and it also conflicts my part time work and courses

They have 9 buildings I think. Their client base for the blackberry alone is something like 4-5 million and it's been less then 10 years since they started business I think. The 12 hour shifts don't bother me whatsoever. Very rarely will I have to do overnight. And the way it works for me is 12 hrs for 3 days or whatever then ill have 2 days off then work 2 days then have a day off...etc. Canadian/USA government and military all use blackberry.

Cable - yeah its a big company I think they have 3 or more buildings in waterloo area.

I still remember when RIM's stock was only $6.00 and I was joking around that I wanted to buy some and now its $70.00 something. I wish I had bought some.
